I haven't been well these week- very ill and with lots of stress going on...yesterday a friend of mine (my age) died- So Sarita (who met this girl when we were in South America in November) said I should do some shopping to take my mind of it, and put some money on my PayPal :heartlub:heartlub

I went to the store - I knew a few things I wanted (like more pocket protectors from Valorie!!!) but then I wanted to make up to the $15 to get the free kit...and I spent the whole evening and part of this morning dwelling on what to get....

Then I remembered I have a Wish List and had never use it!
Still... it was quiet difficult to decide what to get, as one loves everything pretty much the same....
So, I let Sarita pick for me within some rules...

Think this wasn't a shopping thinking about which photos to scrap (or I would have gone to Dalis personal shopper!!!!) but a once in a blue moon when I can have the luxury of spending over $15....

Do you use your wish list?
How do you use it, if so, to shop?
Start getting from 1st item and then on?

would love to know...maybe isn't only me who spends hours deciding?:giggle

Actually I have a Pinterest board that I use as a wish list, and then I just browse through until I see something that is matching the photos I want to work with. Good luck with the shopping, it's a nice "problem" to have!

PS - So sorry about the loss of your friend. Hugs.

I am sorry to hear about your friend, Cynthia. I have the same dilemma as you when it comes time to shop. If a designer offers a discount or a coupon I go through her shop, item by item, looking for what I might need or want within my budget. I'm still building my TLP stash so I sometimes get basics like thread, templates, paint, etc. I'm also discovering the more times I go through a designer's store new things pop out that I didn't notice before. I also like to go through the gallery and see what kits have been used in a layout that attracts my eye. That will get me back to the store and I'll see the kit with a new "eye". I often add those kits to my wish list if I don't have a coupon or sale going on for that kit right now. I do go back to my wish list but I've noticed the longer a kit sits on the wish list the less I like it. Odd, huh?

So sorry about your friend, Cyn!

I have the same problem. I find I don't use the Wish List much because I can't sort or search through it. If I have, say, $15, there's no good way to look at the wish list to figure out what to buy with it. So I try to think about what I actually need or if there's something I've been thinking like, "man, I wish I had more frames" or whatever. But it's hard! Maybe Pinterest is a good idea since you could have different boards instead of just one, unsortable Wish List. I'll have to mull that over!

So sorry to hear of you loss xx

I'm a sit there for hours dwelling too! As much as I'm excited to receive the MOC $20, I know it's going to take me a whole day or more to decide what to buy, not because I can't find anything I like, but because I find so much I like.

I have a ton of things on my Wishlist, so I find that just as daunting as the store itself LOL

I like to browse thru the shop and will put things into my cart. Then when I am finished looking around I will look at my cart and then start deleting what I like or need the least b/c I always have more than I am wanting to spend. One thing I am doing lately is trying to find kits that I like but that also include some things I don't have a lot of but know I will use. I am always gravitating towards flowers, buttons and paint. So I'm not organized enough to follow a wish list or anything, but just do some old fashioned browsing. I find it relaxing :)

Also, so sorry to hear of the passing of your friend. Never easy to deal with a loss.

Sorry to hear about your friend.
How lovely to have money put on your paypal.
I sometimes use the wishlist, but it is the one thing here at the pad that annoys me, because it does not automatically cancel the item if you buy it, and every time you click on something when you go back it takes you to the top again. So about once every 4 or 5 month I purge it, and start from 0 again. Anything I really want (if I could afford it) I write on and old fashioned writing block, and put a line through it when I get it,,,:giggle it works ! mind you it can still take me forever to decide ,
Hope you enjoy your new :stash

Sorry about your friend, Cynthia! Hugs!

I am usually grabbed by color. Then by flowers and papers. lol! I do have the ability to use any kit for most layouts. I've done boy pages with girl kits, so I'm pretty flexible. Lately, I'm attracted to word art. This is a problem. lol!

Right now, I shop and go through the store/designers store. In multiple tabs, I will pull up what I like and then compare, and decide from there. If have too much in my cart, then I will delete or add to the wishlist. I've only just recently started to use the wish list. Things I do want, but didn't want as much as other things or I didn't have the the ability to spend that much at the time. I only have had 10-20 items in there, and will go through that next time to see if I am still feeling the want for those items. Looking now, I did delete one thing. Sometimes, I will purchase BYOC things, and then realize later than I need the papers or whatever item I didn't get from a specific designer. Those stay on the wishlist, so I can get them when I have extra money. (Extra, ha ha)

Great thread to read through. Cynthia, wishing you strength in these hard times...

I'm very sorry to hear about your loss :(

As far as shopping, I am usually a new-release grabber. In the past I haven't been one to purchase a ton because I was on so many CTs I couldn't handle really any more, but now I usually tend to look at the new stuff unless I need a specific theme. And always have to find some of the goodies from the BYOC just because they are always so pretty.

Thanks so much girls, for the feelings and the imput...it helps me get on better with shopping when I see other ways than mine....

Agree with you guiys about the wish list- Vicky I NEED to organize my pad stash on Pinterest, it is a great idea for the wish list too...
