So obviously covid has had a big impact on the entertainment sector everywhere.
Hamilton was meant to start here this year but obviously got pushed back and now doesn't start til next March but DD has been asking to go so i bought tickets and planned to just print them and stick them in her stocking or something - but when i bought them the only options were you go physically pick them up (2.5hrs into the city and then 2.5hrs back? no thanks) or have a 'phone ticket' sent to your phone close to the day, there was no 'print at home ' option and there is nothing i physically have now apart from a credit card bill really. I was thinking maybe of printing the logo and maybe making a fake ticket and then explaining to her?? any other ideas, greatly appreciated because i'm feeling clueless.

Also if you have a Hamilton layout link me up here please so i can see any scrappy product ideas & because i really know nothing about it other than it's about US history in musical form, and everyone i know thru scrapping in the States has seen it like years ago, and apparently everyone in both DD's drama classes can sing every word of every song & she's obsessed (i probably should have watched it when we trialled Disney+).
thanks

I really like your idea of creating a "fake" ticket. You could even make it super realistic by adding the date/time/venue etc. I can't help you with examples of scrappy stuff or layouts because I haven't seen it :giggle

I believe this is a new "Hamilton " that has been released...maybe not the same as the one from years ago. I'm not sure as I haven't seen either of them. Did you not receive an e-mail confirmation of the sale? Anyway, This is what I would do... go to google and type in Hamilton, when all that stuff comes up, click on images. That should bring up everything that you might need. You should be able to print or download anything from there, enter it into your program and create a ticket.

Actually, I just looked it up and it is different cast members. One was even on American Idol.

yes there's often different cast when shows tour down here (australia), sometimes there's one original cast member but rarely more than that. i do have the confirmation email, it's just date time, seats and amount paid, not pretty LOL so googling as you said, is looking like my best bet!

If you want to have a lot of fun - camouflage them! A wrapped box inside of another inside of another... It's quite fun. We even would go as far as weighting down the boxes and add things that made noise to throw the recipient off the trail, so to speak.

another thing to do is to send her on a scavenger hunt throughout the house. We've done that a lot with the kids, and they really enjoy it.

I totally agree....the box, in a box, in a box is loads of fun!

My husband is getting a book that isn't out until the 29th.
So, I'm printing a photo of the book cover and the bookstore where we will go get it. Then I'll wrap that up, probably in a bigger box because it's fun.

Previously, I've created a coupon thing in Photoshop. So it would say:
Good for one ticket to Hamilton on xxxx at xxxx.

I'm also done a scavenger hunt when we did lion king with munchkin. So he found a stuffed lion, then a dinner ticket (made up pasta dinner), and the actual pretend ticket was attached to his suit that he wore.

for wrapping gifts like that I use Japanese paper folding - they have lots of fabulous paper folded envelopes and pockets that they give money gifts in - those would be perfect. Some designs are more tricky than others, but most are achievable by beginners.

I got DD Dancing with the Stars Live tour tickets. VIP package. So I printed out the letters, V I P D W T S T O U R, cut them each out, jumbled them up, put them in a makeup subscription box, and wrapped it like a normal gift. Then when she opened it, she looked so confused: not only wasn't it makeup, but it was random letters? lol

Anyway, I told her she had to arrange the letters to know her present. She got DWTS quite quickly, and then tour, and then VIP. She was shocked, and it was fun without being too much Work lol.

We give our youngest grandson gift cards with instant gaming downloads for Christmas. Because they're all digital, I do a screenshot (showing the code) and we print it out and wrap it or them, depending on how many we buy.

OH how fun that you got her tickets for Hamilton! I'm giving one nephew cash for Christmas because he wanted a graphics card most of all and I wasn't spending THAT much. :giggle So I got the cash envelope and wrapped it up along with a little bag of gummy bears in a little tin I found at the dollar store. That way he had something fun to unwrap too.

We went to see Hamilton twice and loved it both times. First my hubby and I went and then between the time I bought our tickets and when we actually went, my boys listened to the music and fell in love. They were SO mad that we were going without them, so we ended up going a 2nd time and took them with us. They loved it too! I just looked and both times I scrapped about it are using just generic elements...

but these would be fun elements to use:

That sounds like something I HAVE TO google & something that might slow down the gift Unwrapping :) !
