When ya cooking it doesnt matter what preperation you do you always lack one ingredient,I decided to do a lasagna for tea,i get the mince out the freezer i already have the mushrooms onions and peppers in fridge and the cheese sauce in cupboard so go to the supermarket and get the passata,so im good to go yes!...................NO i get half way through it and discover i have no lasagna sheets arghhh and the shops local to me charge double the supermarket

kismet? fate?

i don't know. i had the same problem last night. all i need was one can of pineapple that i swore was in there.

umm...nope!

ha ha ha i noticed that today. I was prepping supper, this titanic salad (from eat shrink and be merry cook book) and I don't have frozen peas or celery.. DUH!!

So, so true -makes me glad for my friendly neighbors. We have an open pantry policy that saves us all trips to the store!

lol! I did that yesterday. Got everything to make a homemade spaghetti sauce but once I got home realized I was missing two ingredients... D'OH!

Oh and this always seems to happen and birthdays... we get the cake... but always forget the candles!

glad its not just me i sent hubby to the supermarket cause not like i can make a lasagna without the lasagna sheets lol

I hate that! And let me tell you, I must REALLY need that missing ingredient for me to pack my 2 and 4 year old and head back to the store. Most of the time I just do without (although with the lasagna sheets I guess that wouldn't be possible lol). I just go over my list about 200 times while I am at the store for fear I might have to go back. It's always sooo much trouble with kids.

Yep, but it always seems to happen when i am in the middle of baking and in my pj's hair all messy and I really don't want to go to the store looking like that.
