A 5 minute commute and pie day sounds divine! Wish I was closer so I could crash your pie day... :giggle! I love pie!

Well, we made 3 pumpkin pies, 2 apple pies, and 2 pecan pies (they were still in the oven when I left to come home). There was supposed to be a lemon pie, but we ran out of pie crusts. One of the pumpkin pies was sacrificed to multiple taste testers today, but here are 2 of the pumpkin pies and the 2 apple pies. I'm also fairly certain that my mother will not be able to stand that we won't have lemon pie, and she'll end up getting more pie crusts. If you were here, Kayla, my mom would spoil you rotten with all her homemade cooking!

YUM those look amazing!

It depends on the year. From the time my daughter got married, we've divvied up Thanksgiving and Christmas. One year she does Thanksgiving and I do Christmas, the next year we flip flop it. Now that my son is married too we need to add a third holiday and rotate the hosting 3 ways. This year we're going to my daughter's and celebrating on Saturday 11/27.
My husband and I made the decision to be the flexible set of parents and not insist on celebrating always on the actual holiday. This makes it easier for our kids to schedule with their in-laws.
