So this is what I did today: made a command center. Approximately $5... :D

It has a chalkboard calendar (black poster paper from Walmart, with washi tape, and the decorative duct tape); next to that I have our cleaning schedule (found on pinterest, typed up and printed a copy that included a handful of tweaks to fit my family); and below that, a menu plan with a grocery list.

the cleaning checklist/schedule is in a transparency thing so I can use dry erase to check things off. I may do the same with the menu plan.

Do you do crafty home improvement projects? Do you have a command center at home?

oh cool! now that is organization on a budget! love it!

we have dry erase calendar by the door but i haven't used it since school ended last june. the kids are in HS and we just text each other as to what is going on/pick ups/ appoints. i guess its been awhile since i did any crafty home improvement projects bc i can't really think of anything. i love your idea though to put the charts/lists in the transparency protector so you can write and wipe it off! genius!

Nice! I did something similar for the boys chore lists this summer.... I hung two clip boards near the calendar. I should have put the list in a transparency thing like you did though, I kept printing new charts each week... or sometimes I'd forget and tell them to use a new color pen or marker over the last one. Lol.

Now THAT is organised! I do have a calendar which I look at daily and everyone knows to make sure they put their stuff on there. Then I have an on going list of big 'around the house' type jobs. Then I have a list of crafting ideas and a crafty shopping list. But they are all just laying around my breakfast bar on scrappy bits of paper. So I guess in a way, that must be my command centre lol

We are similar... well not the HS age, lol! We have a dry erase/magnetic board... though I have to start filling it out weekly. Should have already... but I'm in denial. :P

Ohhh... you should totally print out removable stickers for different activities. So fun to make it hybrid!

For whatever reason, husband didn't want dry erase.... which is why we have chalk. Haha!

We have a calendar on the door in the kitchen with everyone's stuff on it, and a dry erase board next to it where we put down items we need from Costco, Cash & Carry, Target, or the regular grocery store (I also write down random notes to myself on it or the wi-fi passwords, funny things someone said, etc.). I also use Alexa... from Amazon, so I can tell her to add things to my shopping or to-do lists and it goes directly to my phone. And I have a binder, with all of my meal planning stuff on it. I have a spreadsheet with all of the menu items, and then I fill out paper calendars to keep in the binder so I can grab it and check and/or switch things around if I need to. I used to have a framed calendar (made with digi supplies) that had the month's meals planned out, but I was too lazy to switch it out every month. :giggle

I m amazed to you all's organizational skills....

I think I am a bit like Karen: in denial about everything...not getting much done.

We used to do all our re decorating stuff ourselves but as we both haven't been in good health.... nothing this year...as a matter of fact, today they brought the new dishwasher and I was ashamed that the guys would see the state of my place....
I have a calendar to remind us of important things, which generally equals hospitals/doctors appointments or people coming to visit...
I make tons of shopping lists and end up forgetting at home, but now I'm shopping for groceries online so I make a quick list or look into what we bought before....
technology advances have made me lazy....

Love what you've done and that it's SO budget friendly!

We also have a dry erase calendar. But, just last week I noticed it was still on July! :giggle

You go girl! I've tried the family calendar (dry erase on the fridge and at the back door) but nobody but me used it, LOL. So I just keep my paper one. This is awesome, though!

Husband suggested this one, and the placement!!! I've had the dry erase one on the fridge.... Meh. But husband asked for chalkboard, and on the wall opposite the fridge, because our kitchen table sits right in front of it. He and I sit facing it each morning with our coffee before kids are up. So it's "BAM" in your face each day. :)

Awesome! I am all about the command center. I find it makes things so much easier!
