I am in shock, overwhelmed and in awe of this Mac! And the scary thing is I have NO idea how to really use it! Even just being on the web is different. Do I use Safari or Firefox?

First things first, I have to learn how to use iPhoto.

Any and all advice you can give this novice would be greatly appreciated! Isn't it pretty?

GAH! It's beeeeeauitful! And you know what they say: once you go Mac, you never go back! LOL You'll get the hang of it.

you will LOVE it!! do you have a mac store near you? you can sign up for one of their iphoto workshops (not sure if you got one-to-one - if so, even better!!) ... i really just learned by playing around - but i just got another one (a new laptop) and i'm going to do some workshops and one-to-one training to make sure i'm doing everything as efficiently as possible! haha! (not just related to iphoto - related to EVERYTHING :) )
 
I did get the one-to-one and I'm pumped about that, but I tend to be impatient and want to know it all now! :lol
 
Wheee!! She sure is purty Leslie! I use safari as it's already on there...I didn't attempt to put any new browser on and I've gotten used to it :)

you should also be able to view them through your one to one portal page.

as for ff vs safari, its whatever you are used to. i prefer safari, since apple made it, they know what will run best on their computers.

your set up is BEAUTIFUL! i love the 27 inches! they are FABULOUS!!!! all those extra inches for photoshop tools.

and.... since i noticed you got iwork (YAY!) check out how to scrapbook in keynote. you cant do everything that photoshop can, but i find it much less confusing in some instances. 99% of the pages i create i use keynote for. www.cornbreadcupcakes.com

Okay, what is one-to-one? Is it a new program or something? We have macs too, but they are a few years old.

I actually don't use iphoto, I still use my Lightroom for organizing my photos, but I am sure that I just don't know how to stuff with it.

I use Safari too, although I do have FF loaded on here.

One to one is a service you can pick up when you get a mac at the Apple store. It's like having a personal trainer for your computer for only $99 a year. It's pretty awesome.

that is pretty awesome! We didn't live close to an Apple store when we got ours, maybe the next time. I might have to check out the little training sessions though.
 
oh I LOVE it Love love love it! I use Safari on my mac. The best way to get to know iphoto better is to just get in and use & abuse it!!! I love it all! I edit most of my photos just in iphoto! ;)
 
Are any of you mac girls using the acdsee beta? It's the only thing that stopping me from getting rid of my pc. I just don't know if I can live without that program!
