For all you US ladies, anyone have anything exciting planned for the three day weekend?

I teach school and we started back a week and a half ago and this 3 day weekend is much needed. We always have tons of extra meetings and meet the parents nights and be your student nights the week of and first full week of school, so I am super thankful to have a few down days. DH is working nights last night and tonight, but then gets Monday off so we are continuing to paint in our house. Our plan for the weekend is the living room which will be the biggest beast to paint since it has high ceilings, built in bookshelves, a gallery wall to take down, etc. I am excited though for the fresh coat of paint.

and i plan to scrap :)

Here in Canada it's Labour weekend as well. I am going to finish up with my reorganizing of closets, laundry and hopefully plan meals for the week.
My son has his driving lesson today then we are going to get him a few school clothes, dinner and a movie for my birthday. Tomorrow he is going to his dad's so not sure what I will do with myself...maybe nothing, lol. Monday will be making sure I have my stuff ready to take back to work as it is first day of school Tuesday.

Today it is the small girl's final Primary school fete (she heads off to high school next year and they don't hold one), I will be helping out at the second-hand books store all day while she wanders the school grounds with her pack of pre-teen pals, going on rides, patting farm animals and basically running around screaming a lot. I will no doubt make my way to the sweet stall and grab some home-made fudge and coconut-ice before the day is done :D

Have a great long weekend my US friends, what ever your plans :D

I drove up with the kids to my parents' house for the weekend. So far, we had a playdate with a high school friend of mine + her kids, played lots of card games with Grandma, watched 'Toy Story 3,' and made brownies. The extended family will be over on Monday afternoon for lunch before we head back home.

We visit the renaissance fair yesterday. We were planning pool today and concert tonight, but Bianca is driving me insane misbehaving all morning.

yesterday we did a little bit of school shopping, a couple pair of pants and a pair of shorts for the boy. Then it was Taco Bell and the movies, his treat for my birthday. It was a wonderful afternoon, being 16 1\2 I relish any time we get to hang out :).

He is gone to his dad's, won't be home until tomorrow and I'm just hanging out on the couch. Laundry is all done and put away, house is put together and it has just started to pour so any thoughts of going outside are now done, lol.

We headed out for a last summer hoorah vacation and just got back last night. We drove to Minnesota to visit some dear friends of ours. The boys were super excited to cross the "mighty Mississippi" and visit some new states. We had such a great time too. They had 130 acres and four-wheelers and places to get dirty and have fun. Plus, there were two boys their ages and the four of them were rarely seen except for meal times. :)

we spent a few days in Cape Cod ... it had been a long time since i had been there. beautiful but also very crowded and touristy. now to sort through all the laundry, make a list for groceries and get the kids haircuts and a few things for the 1st day of school on thursday. i am tired just thinking about it all ...
