A friend of mine is pregnant and has asked me to take some pictures of her and her family. I have no clue what to do after taking the pictures.

She's going to pay me. What do you normally do after taking the pictures? Post process all of them and ask her to select some out of them or show her the originals and post process only photos which she selects?

Any help, tip will be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.

2 cents ... depending on how many photos you take, you may be post processing a BUNCH! of images. so maybe just wait to see which ones she likes. But she also doesn't need to see every image, so go through them once and take out the blinks or blurs. Then sit on it. Take out a few more. Sit on it again. Any that need color or exposure correction... do it. Whatever needs to be done to make her love the image. But... not anything that would take more than 2 minutes. After that... process the ones she wants.

What kind of photos are you doing? Maternity, newborn, both?
Sounds like fun! I need to expand my portfolio and wish I knew some pregnant women to photograph.

Thanks, Heather! I'm doing the maternity photo shoot and once the baby is born, i'll do the newborn photo shoot.

Yay! That's way exciting. I read somewhere... (I can't remember, I have been blog hopping/stalking so much recently) that around the 6th day is the best to photograph the babies. They are still sleepy, but their skin evens out and if they are going to have any acne or colic it should have not developed yet.

I would love to see the photos when you finish. :D

i totally agree with heather! also, i think it may be beneficial to maybe process a FEW in various tones, etc... ie black & white, antiqued, and so on, so that she can kind of get a feel for what options she might have when she is picking the ones she likes.
