so i'm knee deep in learning the new computer and i'll be scheduling my first one-to-one soon. however, i have a question that i need answered now b/c it's driving me batty. how do i make the folder jpg (kit preview) for a kit show up?
 
Leslie, I have used finder and bridge and for some reason, Bridge seemed to always cause my PSE to shut down unexpectedly. When I quit using bridge, I didn't have that problem any more. I know that could have to do with the fact that I have a powerbook that is almost 6 years old (wow, didn't realize that until just now!), but it has just been easier for me to use Finder.

To get the preview pic to show up. Open the preview .jpeg in Preview {control click opens a drop down menu to say open with : choose preview}. then when it opens, copy it [command + C], then go back to the main folder in finder, highlight it and press command + I (for info) and a new window pops up, in the top left corner it shows the blue folder. Highlight the folder and paste [command +V] and the preview picture will show up.

Yes, it is rather cumbersome, and if someone knows something easier, I am all for it. The good news is that some designers that use Macs, their folders automatically show up as the preview picture.

I dont use pse so don't know of the issues you might have.... Are you using pse?

I use Bridge- ALL of the time! It's always open and I grab everything from there- even from my downloads. I use it open and view and organize all my folders! I can't imagine using anything else!

As far as being overwhelmed switching over to mac, once you get how easy and straight forward it really is, it'll all come together....

Feel free to ask any questions- i ADORE my mac!!!

oh val, you may regret you ever said that. :giggle I haven't tried Bridge yet so i'll have to investigate.

becky, like gina here (i know she designs on mac) her folder previews show up. i just want all of the too. :) thank you so much for the tips and i'll definitely be doing that tonight.

I may have to try using it again, but I think that I also have just gotten used to Finder and so I haven't taken the time to really use the Bridge!
 
Laluna, there are problems currently with uploading to the gallery using (IE) Internet Explorer. I ended up using Google Chrome and I was able to upload fine, so until they fix the problem, I will upload my pages to the gallery using Chrome and if I am not uploading anything, just viewing the gallery or forum then I will just use my normal IE. Hope that helps you.
*Others have used Safari & Firefox also to upload besides Chrome with success. The main page for the gallery indicates this issue with IE and they are working on it.
 
Yes, if you would please use a different browser to upload to the gallery for the time being until we get the issue sorted out. Thanks!
