I'm in PS CC and I was trying to move something and got an error that stated: "Could not use the move tool because the target channel is hidden". I can't do anything at all.......

Can anyone help?

Hmm... I'm in PS CS5... so my program is slightly different I'm sure, but I've never seen that error. Are you in the channels palette instead of the layers palette perhaps? My program has in the lower right corner and window or palette and there are 3 tabs Layers, Channels and Paths. Maybe see if you need to click on the Layers tabs instead of being in the Channels tab?

When all else fails, save page and close it down and start up again.

I use PS CC and have never seen that error, sorry I am of no help. My first instinct would be what Rae suggested, save and restart.

Maybe you accidentally entered Quick Mask edit mode. Try hitting Q to exit it.

Lorry, I think that was it. I went to channels and saw a quick mask under them all. I deleted it and I was fine after that.

Next time I will know to use Q. Thank you.

I have had that error before, but it was when my toddler bombed me for a quick keyboard punch - he does that a lot - and I see this error a lot. In my case I found that saving it saved whatever he did and undo never worked, so I always had to shut it down without saving and start back from my latest save. I wonder if this was it. I will try this too next time - thanks!
