on jan 25, 2013 our grandson was born still. we were shocked to learn that 26,000 babies in the United States are born still each year, and that this figure has not changed in decades. We need better awareness and more research. Many of these mothers are healthy and have no medical issues. Many times the cause is not found. Our daughter and son in law along with other parents and grandparents have formed a NY Metro chapter of Star Legacy Foundation. Their mission is to provide programs to medial persons, support to families and research in the area of stillbirths.

There will be two Lets Not Be Still 5 k walks and runs this april to support these programs. Hope you can consider participating, sponsoring me, and sharing this information with families and others who may be interested.

First of all, so sorry for your loss. That's a lot of babies being born still - such a tragedy. Good luck with the 5k walks/runs in April.
 
I'm so sorry for your family's loss. I was just having this conversation with 2 of my children tonight in fact as they were discussing their births (for some random reason) and we talked about what a miracle and grace-filled blessing a healthy birth still is today. There are definitely too many heart achingly tragic stories and I am so saddened for the hole in your hearts and lives caused of this tremendous loss.

Stillbirth is such an enormous tragedy and my heart always hurts when I re-read your story and the lasting impact it has on your family.
 
Hugs to you and your family! I'm sorry you had to experience this, as well as others that have had to as well. It makes my heart hurt. I'm wishing you guys much success, and lots of spreaded awareness!
 
thank you ladies for your well wishes, your concern and your support. it means so much to me and my family. and together we are spreading awareness which will lead to and help us obtain research so we can save babies and families from this tragedy
