Okay, I found a recipe that looked easy and delicious on Pinterest. I know I pinned it but now, I can't find it and I've bought everything to make it. For those of you on Pinterest.....Help, Please!

It had shrimp, smoked sausage, chicken broth, and rice (along with some other stuff that I had on hand). I can make something with everything but I really wanted to try out the recipe. Did anyone happen to pin a recipe like this?

mmmm that sounds yummy ... my oldest daughter's two favorite foods are shrimp and sausage, so i may have to try that! did you end up making it last night? was it good?

Definitely let us know how it turned out Melanie! I have most of the ingredients on hand (except for canned soups...never have those). I'll have to try it if it was yummy. Karen...your receipe looks good too. I just printed it out!!

What's even funnier is that I found a great casserole for this weekend's potluck and one of my friends decided to make the same thing. Yea, she's on Pinterest too!

Don't know yet.....I'll find out this Saturday night. It's out monthly Potluck dinner with our riding buddies!

Oh! Ha ha... when I saw you said your friend was on pinterest and was doing the same thing, I thought that meant you already made it. :)

I don't know about pinterest, but I have made this one twice in the last two weeks because my hubby loved it so much. It's too spicy for my kids, but that's why we liked it. :) Yum!

Karen...I just made this tonight. My one son thanked me and told me how delicious it was. My husband said it was a complete success...he LOVED it. My other son was enjoying it as well and was on the phone to my son in Texas telling him all about it!

Thanks so much for linking me...and the fact that you'd tried it helped me decide to make it.

I think this is going to be one they request often!!

Yay! I'm glad they liked it! I had to scoop some out for my boys before I put in the cajun spice, but this is my hubby new favorite meal. :) And I love that it's mostly done in the microwave! :)

I did it on the stove top in a dutch oven. I didn't take the tails off the shrimp (brain freeze on that one), so next time I'll remember to do that and then it will be perfect!!

Okay, I made the Scrimp/Sausage dish and it was a Bust! I didn't make it for the potluck but just for dinner and DH did not care for it very much. He said that he thought my dishes were much better. I don't know if I didn't put enough spice in it or what but it just didn't go over very well. DS thought it was okay too but said the same thing. Oh well, at least they like my recipes which made me feel a little better.

I did make a breakfast casserole on Sunday and it went over so well that DH asked for me to make it again so he could just cut him a slice and heat it up in the mornings. Yes! I redeemed myself! LOL

LOL Melanie!! I'm happy you redeemed yourself!

oh...and on breakfast casseroles, I tried that sausage one on the box of grits (just fyi...I had never had grits before and had no idea what they even were...but a friend recommended it). My family went nutso over it too.

I'd love your b-fast casserole recipe too!! :)

Me too Mel... post the recipe for your breakfast casserole!!! :)

Here y'all go: (It came from AllRecipes but I added the onion and green pepper. The original recipes just calls for a little green onion.

  • 1 (16 ounce) package breakfast sausage
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped green bell pepper
  • 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 6 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 (2.64 ounce) package country gravy mix
  • 6 slices bread, cut into 1 inch cubes
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter (optional)
  • paprika to taste (optional)

Directions
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Grease an 11x8 inch baking dish.
  1. Brown sausage in a large skillet; drain fat.
  2. Combine sausage with green onion, onion, green pepper and spread evenly across the bottom of the baking dish. Top with shredded cheese. Whisk together eggs, water, milk, and gravy mix; add mixture to baking dish. Arrange bread squares evenly on top. If desired, drizzle melted butter over bread, and sprinkle with paprika.
  3. Bake 40 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a knife inserted into the center comes out clean. Set aside 10 minutes before serving.
I made this, again, on Friday so all he has to do is get a slice out of the fridge, heat in the microwave for a minute and he's got a good breakfast. Hope your families like it.
