Okay... I need to find a really good "hand lettering" font, that is close to what a lot of people are using. I know a lot of people will say they actually drew it, but when they all look the soooo similar, I just need a font that is close enough.

Link me to your favorites, please!

I do have a LOT of those. I scroll through them in PSE, none of them are quite what I need. I am sure I need to pay for one that has flourishes or something?
what i SHOULD do... is to pull out my Graphics Tablet... and make my own. :giggle not happening today. LOL

I would have a look among the script fonts at creative market. There are tons of lovely hand lettering fonts that are not too expensive. A lot of them have tons of glyphs and alternates, too. Favorite font makers of mine are for example Nicky Laatz, Joanne Marie and Angie makes (they all sell at CM).

I knew I should not have opened this thread! I've been trying to cut back on fonts but I just downloaded 12 from befonts.com. Thanks @cfile. Oh and @klee73010, I think you might find what you're looking for under brush scripts at befonts.com.

yeah, I probably shouldn't have asked this question. LOL. I've now just added quite a few myself. bahahahah

You could also have your handwriting turned into a font. I did and I love it. I also had DD's handwriting turned into a font when she turned 5. I wanted to capture that innocent, childlike happiness at knowing her letters. :) (crap, I guess I should do that for DS when the time comes? Gotta be fair!)
Anyway, just an idea. My handwriting is actually pretty messy so I don't use it to journal every page.

Oh... this thread is dangerous! :giggle! I hope you found one you liked... and when you do... share! :giggle

I use this one all the time . . . I'm not sure why, maybe because it's kind of close to my handwriting?

@klee73010 - I have a (not so) small font problem. It used to just be the free ones I'd collect, but then I bought my first commercial-use professionally-designed font, filled with glyphs and stylistic alternates and that extreme designy goodness ... well, it's sort of like my photography; once I used my first piece of really good glass (70-200 f/2.8, mmmmm!) I'm ruined for using the cheaper stuff. <sigh>

So read on with caution, okay? This might change your fontyness forever...

I buy the discounted bundles from Design Cuts - they're usually listed at something like 95% off MSRP... $29 for a whole bunch of stuff. They run new ones every two weeks. Right now it's vector art, no fonts, but keep an eye on it for the next one.

You can also buy individual products from their Marketplace, but the discounts aren't as steep as the bundles. They do give you a tiered discount if you buy multiple products at once. Here are some of my favorites:

I use No. Seven ALL the time for titles. It has the very best alternates to create swishy words!

Love, love, LOVE Madina script. If I could have only one handwriting font, this would be it.

Betterfly has the best texture and swashes!

Veryberry is another sweet one.

FontBundles.net offers a free font of the week - it's totally worth it to sign up for their newsletter. I've picked up a bundle here, too ... right now, their Fabulous Font Bundle is $15 and you get 15 commercial fonts.

And Mighty Deals is another one that's worth it to keep an eye on.

Of course, if you're looking for one particular font, you can always go to Creative Market. My current obsession is Violetta:

And I am all about using the Monopoly font family for journaling and subtitles:

And over at MyFonts.com, although it's similar to No. Seven, I still go back to Letrista Script ALL the time:

I hope this helps!
