So, my mom is totally tech illiterate and she used to have a photo collage program that she loved. SUPER Easy. She just popped her photos in and printed. I think it came with her printer. For some reason, the program doesn't work for her anymore and she needs something else.

I've been researching online but everything seems so complicated (for her).

Looked at Smilebox, but seems to be just cards. DL'd Picasa but can't see plain old 8.5 x 11 templates.

Does anyone have an idea. She cannot handle much, keep in mind. I love her but she is lost when she on the computer beyond facebook :giggle

She's on a PC and I'm Mac only, so maybe that's why I can't find what I need? Frustrating. I'm willing to pay for something, but free is always better :) .

Thanks.

I use Picasa. You can choose which size you want the collage to be. Supereasy!!!

Just scream if you can't find how to do it!

I'm screaming, LOL. I DL'd Picasa and saw some options on the left but not a customizable template. It REALLY needs to be super easy, hehe. Help.

And Molly, that looks promising. Can't really test it since it costs $$ and I would need to DL on my mom's computer, but may be worth the $5 for sure.

Okay, I made some screenshots (I had downloaded something to make a little movie with what I am doing on my screen, but it was bugged....)

First of all, my Picasa is in Dutch, but I believe it's traductable and you can see the positions on the screenshots, so it should help you a bit.

Let me know if it works for you. Perhaps it's not really what you were looking for.
But I used this technique for easy peasy pages in family albums and they were good!

Thanks so much. This looks completely different from my program DL'd on my Mac, LOL. I remember Picasa being a Windows only thing forever, though, so perhaps the adaptation is different. Regardless, I may give it a whirl on my mom's PC when we visit tonight.

Don't know if any of the above are any good to you.
Serif software is really easy to use , and the photoprojects would be mostly from templates, even through it includes a version of CraftArtist as well, the actual projects would be drag and drop.! But who knows she might enjoy having a go at other things.

I included a link to the editing software, because this is a free version, so no harm done ;-)

Edit Serif is for windows

i just drag and drop photos into picmonkey which is web-based so no downloading programs or updating etc - u can set the dimensions in pixels down the bottom so if you knew how many pixels was in an 8.5 x 11 i think that would make it easy enough - u can make a 'sample' collage with their sample images if u need to try it in person with her to show her it's easy but i made a bunch in a few minutes this morning to email the xmas pics to relo's (relatives - not sure if relo's is an Aussie slang word).
