It would mean the world to me and other families who have had a stillborn baby if you could spare a moment to sign this petition at whitehouse.gov asking the federal government to acknowledge the stillbirth crisis and hopefully draw more funding towards stillbirth research and awareness to prevent future tragedies.

It's very quick - just a name and email address, then click on the link in the confirmation email - and you should not get any further follow up "spam" or be asked to donate any money or anything. It's literally just a minute of your time to help save potentially tens of thousands of lives.

As you may know, 26,000 babies are stillborn each year in the US - that's 70 per day, almost the same number of people who die in car accidents - and at least 30-50% of these are, like our grandson,Oliver, perfectly healthy children who could have been saved if there was better screening and more awareness. The number of stillbirths has been stalled for decades and may even be climbing; something needs to be done to stop so many families from being shattered by this needless tragedy, and you can help!

Please click here to sign the petition,

https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/pe...-develop-guidelines-advocate-better-screening

and , please please please forward this information on to 5 (or more!) other people and ask them to do the same. We must get 100,000 signatures by Dec 10th to guarantee a response from the Obama administration, and we still have a long way to go!

Our grandson, Oliver was born still at 35 weeks on January 25, 2013, after our healthy daughter's perfectly normal pregnancy. As you can imagine this was devestating to our family. There is no need for the high incidence of stillbirth to still exist in our country but we need to get the word out so that research can work on lowering this sad incidence. Thank you for taking the time to read this and to sign the petition.

Sorry to hear about your grandson. This is such a devastating thing to happen. We might have lost our son if a nurse had not noticed something on the fetal monitor. I signed it.

thank you carilyne and glad for the excellent nurse you had...watch for an email you have to click on to confirm your signing signature ...thanks again and please share this with anyone who know...on social media or via email t

I signed and shared. I have known too many people who have suffered a loss similar to yours. So sorry about your grandson :(

thank you jan...sadly this is the truth...once you mention it you always hear that someone had this happen to them, someone in their family, a friend , a neighbor... until it happened in our family i thought stillbirth was something that only happened in third world countries, to drug abuseers, or during the victorian age, sadly we all now know this is not so

I know several families who have been touched by this terrible loss. I am so sorry for your family's loss as well. I signed.

thank you so very much... it is sad but once mentioned most people know someone thats why we need to put some notice that this is a health crisis..thank you again
