I am going to throw my computer against a wall!!! Well, not really but I am frustrated! I have windows 10 and you know when you right click to get the box to create a new folder??? And the little blue circle appears and is circling? Then the box should appear and you click "New Folder"? Well, it doesn't!!! The little circle just keeps circling------and circling-----and circling!!!!! The only way I can get out is to hit CTRL ALT DELETE ! I lost a layout TWICE last night because I had to hit the C L D to get out of the computer! One time I put the computer down and came back two hours later and it was STILL circling!!!! Any ideas for a fix???????

what the heck? I'm sorry, I'm no help ... I use a Mac and I think my kids' computers aren't at 10 yet. But I wanted to say I'm sorry for hassle. Assuming that you did a full restart, right? I wish I knew what to say ... Sorry!!!! :badputer:badputer:badputer:badputer:badputer

I would also try restarting. If that doesn't work, you may need proper tech support :/

Full restart is my suggestion too. Or look at task manager with you Control Alt Delete and see if you can just exact that section. So frustrating. How's your memory (the computer not yours). My computer does weird things when it's time to move stuff to the EHD. Sorry I'm not a techie so that's all I can suggest.

I'm no help. My main computer is a macbook, but I've got a little windows10 laptop, but the performance on it has turned to crap. It uses up all the computer resources when almost nothing is being used. I've googled the symptoms and tried a few things. Initially, it appears those help, but it starts behaving badly again. It was my daughter's computer and I deleted almost all of her files thinking the hard drive was little too full, but that didn't help. I'm too lazy to spend any more time troubleshooting it, but seriously thinking about finding the recovery disks and taking it back to windows 7.

Make sure there aren't any updates that your computer may need to do. That can cause it to not run/work properly. How long has it been doing this? You may need to do a system restore and go back to the date before it started doing it.

Before the last update, my folder windows would just close them selves out of no where

I've noticed there are lots of problems with Windows explorer in Windows ten. If you open task manager, you can also restart explorer without a total reset. Sometimes this helps. Best thing is to turn on auto save wherever you can, and save often.

Nancy, I Googled that problem too and saw the same how-to as Cheryl. I hope you figure this out! I second checking out task manager, if possible, to see if you can close just the offending program.

Mine would, too! It was the weirdest thing. Also annoying, as I'm sure you know.

so sorry to hear Nancy... I'm on Mac so not much use, but I see the girls seem to have found some help..... hope you can get it going smoothly Hugggzzz

OK, How do I find "Task Manager". Don't even know what it is????????

To get the blue circle to stop most times it is enough to press escape. Short term solution though. Then save to an old folder, don't try to create a new one. I think it is an update problem. Mine keeps closing favourite, drives you nuts.

Well, DUHHHHHHH, I don't know what I did or what happened but everything seems to be working ok now. I found Task Manager which was complete GREEK to me!!! What in the world was I suppose to be looking for in there. There were all kinds of strange lists and I didn't dare touch anything!!! Anyway, after looking at everything in Task Manager and deciding I had better get out of there before I royally screwed up my computer, I tried to start a new folder, and---there it was-----the box where I could choose to create a new folder!!!! :clap:clappy:fairydance:happydance2
