Hi Julia, I am in Australia as well and I thought you might like to see some of the animals that live here at my place
Some of them are native animals and some are domestic
Photo 1: One of the koalas that live up the back of our property.
Photo 2: This is a bushy tail possum that used to live down in the garage. He is gone now but we would give him pieces of fruit to eat. They look cute but have very sharp claws so you need to be careful. We would just leave the fruit in a spot close to him and he would come down to eat. Sometimes we would come and find him sitting in his 'eating spot' waiting for us!!! lol!
Photo 3: This is one of our resident wallabies. Some of them are very tame and will come up onto the back porch like this one. This one was looking for a piece of bread! They used to sleep out in the backyard but now we have some little pups and they will chase the wallies so the wallies only come around occasionally now.
Photo 4: Another wallaby with a baby in her pouch! This is how they sit sometimes. The little one will get out of the pouch and jump around like mad and then scramble back into the pouch! Poor Mum, she tries to get a nap in the sun and junior is jumping around like mad and then will often jump on her to play!

Typical kid!!
Photo 5: This is a goanna. One of the dogs had chased it up the tree! They can be nasty when cornered, have VERY long claws which are very sharp!! They also hiss when they get frightened and their tongue comes out like a snake. The birds don't like them as they will climb the trees looking for birds' eggs. The kookaburras will dive bomb them to try and get them off their tree.
Photo 6: These are two of our Fox Terrier pups, Miss Daisy on the left and Bat on the right. Miss Daisy got her name because she looked like a black and white cow!

All the other dogs are mostly white with black spots, while Miss Daisy is mostly black with white spots! Bat got his name because his ears stand up straight, they don't flop, and his little face looked just like a bat!

They are fighting over a little stuffed bear in the photo.
Photo 7: This is largest of the puppies and I called him Fatty because he was so big and fat when they were born! LOL! They are now 12 months old and Fatty really should be called Muscles now as his fat has gone! but he is used to Fatty so I can't change his name now!
Hope you enjoy the photos Julia and please ask if you have any questions about them.......... or would like to see more photos......... I have plenty!!
