I leave tomorrow for Boston to attend a conference! I am staying at the Marriott Boston Copley Place in the Back Bay district. Any recommendations for things to do, see or eat in that area???

It might be a super chilly but I loved going whale watching. If you get sea-sick be prepared is about 1hr trip each way.

Get some lobster bisque or clam chowder, yummy oh!

Oh fun!! I love Boston!! Have you ever been before? If not, you really should do a Freedom Trail tour. One of my uncles owns a great tour company there. Let me know if you are interested and I will send you the deets. :)

you could do a duck tour as well, which will get you out on the water.

the isabella gardiner art museum is lovely and close to back bay.

you must visit quincy market/faneuil hall. it's just fun.

I wouldn't wear any Yankee's gear or SF Giants...and would nod appreciatively when anyone mentions the Red Soxs tee hee

That's right! Seriously--lots of VERY serious Red Sox fans/Pats fans, etc.

Let's see...if the weather is sucking, the Museum of Fine Arts, Aquarium and the Science Museum are fun. A walk through the Commons is nice: they might even have the Swan Boats out. There used to be a Make Way for Ducklings statue, too, but I don't know if it's still there (the ducklings were stolen a few times). Old North Church. What else...I definitely agree with the Freedom Trail. Be sure to wear ultra-comfortable shoes, however. I think the USS Constitution is nearby where you'll be staying, but I'm not sure. That's the oldest ship still in commission in the US Navy-three masted ship, wooden, a real artifact. They still sail it out to turn it around in the dock for even wear. Also if you don't mind heights, try going up to the top of the John Hancock building. Spectacular views of the entire city, assuming the weather is clear.

Your hotel should be able to point out a lot of good sights.

I spent the day in Boston by myself, and just walked the Freedom Trail. It's a great photo walk - and a fab city to just hang out, and take it all in.

if you're into beer, the Sam Adams brewery tour is free and you get a little souvenir glass that you sample several beers in, then take home! It is accessible from the T if you are using public transit!

These girls have got you covered with all my fav highlights. I always enjoy just walking around Boston on an nice day. The only thing I didn't see in the list is Mikes Pastry in the Northend - yummy!

Definitely check out the north end for dinner. It's just full of yummy Italian.

I wish I wasn't days away from giving birth-- I'd visit with you! Everyone has for sure got you covered-- great advice. Enjoy!! :)

If it hasn't been mentioned also the Boston Museum of Science!

If you're still there...do NEWBURY STREET ...walk it up and down...
then get a cupcake at Georgetown cupcakes (don't let the line scare you
because they have it set up so you get your cupcake quickly!)
