you were born in the wrong decade? I'm 31. I listen to almost NO new music. My music consists mainly of 50s and 60s and DooWop. I dream of driving a Chevy Nomad. I wish men still wore a pompadour. I'm a sucker for sideburns. My favorite movies are either black and white or 50s-60s based. I know every episode of I Love Lucy by heart. I use a handkerchief.

Anyone else feel out of place in the times?

BTW, if you know any great 50s-60s kits/prods, please let me know!

Ama,
It doesn't happen to me, but I believe Bianca was meant to be born to be a teenage of the 80s.

I'm stuck in the 80's - but at least I spent my formative years enjoying those years. My son has also taken to the 80's but he missed out. I do love black and white movies though and would have loved to experienced the 30's and 40's - fascinating times..

Yes. YES! YEEEEES !!!!! Not only the wrong era but the wrong place too.

I think I was supposed to be in the bell-bottom-Grease era ... which era was that huh? Why? Cos I am a closet-art-farty person, iykwim. My mannerism, thots & all (aka invisible me) are so arty-farty (read: LOUD). But physically, I am so NOT. :banghead I dun even hv the guts to revamp my wardrobe to be arty-farty. My TLP avatar is proof of THAT. *roll eyes*

I also think I was supposed to be a Native American ... an Egyptian ... an English lady in Downton Abbey.

Oh wait ... dun forget being a true blue Peranakan girl cos they were on my mum's side of the family - great grandparents ie. So now I have abt 5% in my blood which is not good. Not very good. Once upon time, I was so determined to ante-up my Peranakan blood, that I went on a hunt for true-blue Peranakan boys to be my bfs and/or hubby-to-be. :dizzy

I love their deep-seeded culture, their strong beliefs in the legends & history. Not forgetting the family life ... so close-knitted.

Ok, go ahead & laugh at me when I say .... I dun mind being match-make to marry. Marrying for true love S.u.C.K.s. :p

my heart longs for the 60-70s the Jesus People Movement, that was such an outpouring, that I hunger for that...I love Lynn-Marie's wicked cool kit Woodstock:

Not me but my daughter loves the 80's. Yrs ago she took all my cassettes from the 80's and played them constantly. She loves the clothing from that time and the hair styles.

I would love to have lived in different time because of the fashion.... love absolutely love the 40's fashion....but wouldnt like to have gone through war as it was.
then I love the Tudors, the Renaisance because of also fashion but art...those were times in which timeless art was made....
I guess I was born in a wonderful time, late 50s but got to live the whole music thing and started on stage very young too (13)
what I think is wriong isn't much the time I was born, but theway the world is going....

I dont think there has been a creation in the arts that shattered the world as much as Michelangelo or Da Vinci did, not even Led Zeppelins , Pink Floyds , Crosby Still & Nash, The Beatles.....the list is long.
It goes same with sports....
Footiball in Brazil was a sport until the 70s...these days?
kids play not for the art of the sport, but because there is money in it....
we live in a culture in which people want to be famous just to be famous/have money...without having any merrit ...
anyway, I better stop or we all end up crying together LOL

Sometimes I think that I should've been born in another time but I'm not sure when. I love early 1900's England but I would have wanted to be aristocracy. LOL! Love the 50's too, but I don't like the sexist stuff like the wife should only be in the kitchen & the man is boss. Uh no! LOL!! How about having just a time machine so that I could test a little of each decade and/or century! That would be cool!
