Today is Harlem Globetrotters Day!

If you don't know who I'm talking about, they are an exhibition basketball team. They are hilarious and amazing! I haven't seen them in person, but we use to have a similar team, the Harlem Superstars, who would come to our school as a fundraiser and play the faculty. It was a lot of fun! I would really like to see the Savannah Bananas, an exhibition baseball team. I have put myself in the lottery and on the waitlist for tickets for the last several years, but no luck yet.

Have you ever seen the Harlem Globetrotters? or a similar team?
Any exhibition teams you'd like to see?
 
Oh maybe 50 or 55 years ago I saw an exhibition basketball team. Was it the Globetrotters? I honestly don't remember! I suppose they could have played in my small town back in those days so I guess it is possible I saw them.
 
I always loved the Harlem Globetrotters when I was growing up. They were part of variety shows and fundraisers, etc. I saw on TV. I think I just really loved their theme song.


The Savannah Bananas I've actually heard of because my brother and his family lived there. While he was deployed overseas, they were able to go to a couple of games.

I'm not comfortable much anymore in stadium seating, so there's not much that would pull me to a game.
 
I saw the Harlem Globetrotters when I was a kid and I thought they were magical! So much so, that I made my hubby go with me when we were in our late 20s. Um, much less magical but still fun - definitely more for kids, I'd say. My hubby, son and I all joined the lottery for Savannah Bananas tix for when they visit here in February. My son won so we are going!
 
I’ve never seen them but I would love to! A local university always puts on a fun basketball stunt halftime show; it never ceases to amaze me!
 
My grandson and I saw the Harlem Globetrotter with his Cub Scout den … must have been twenty years ago. Time sure flies!
 
I've only ever seen them on TV, but they are so cool! So talented too! My son just showed me a YouTube video about the Savannah Bananas this summer. They look so fun too!
 
I just heard on TV that the Harlem Globetrotters are coming to South Bend Indiana soon which is only about 40 minutes from my house. I totally chuckled and thought about this thread! :giggle
