I'm having a blah day. So, maybe you could cheer me up with happy thoughts? Gifs, Photos, Stories, Quotes - I'm open for anything!

And what do you do to get rid of the blahs?

Can you be cheered up by guacamole? I'm checking out the TLP forum while eating my dinner, which includes one of my favorite foods, guacamole. :D

Perhaps a better idea: get lost in a good book!

Love the gratitude list- that is excellent!
Chocolate is ALWAYS good- dark gets some anti-guilt points too.
Paint- I pull out the paper, paint, stencils, gesso- watercolors...washi - and go to town, even if on a small page!!!!
And music- using a LOT of music for myself right now!

Good upbeat music usually cheers me up and maybe an at home dance party :) Or just a nap :)

This looks pretty much like my day

Oh, yeah!!!!! Love me some freshly made Guac' !!!!

Silly songs help me and serving others. I also like the gratitude listing idea. oh and going outside and letting the sun shine on me... sending some SUNSHINE your way! :hug

Ummm... you can't get the blahs, you are always happy and positive. Not allowed. lol

If the blahs linger (and you don't know why), do something to explore what their cause is. For me this might be taking a walk or making an art journal page (using Tangie's definition of AJ). Often once I can identify the cause, I can move on and/or take some action to work on changing the cause.

Last Tuesday I tore off a page from my page-a-day calendar -- this year I have returned to the dog calendar, my favorite, after two years of not having it -- and it says,

Q: What do you get if you cross a gold dog with a telephone pole?
A: A golden receiver! :)

(It is still making me smile, even though it's really terrible!)

I don't have anything that I do for the blahs; I'm too busy to do anything about them. I wouldn't recommend that tactic; right now, for me, that's just how it is. The only thing I can do is to steal free moments whenever I can -- I carry around earbuds and my iPad (along with my phone) so that I can listen to music (or books!) and scrapbook (or read!) while my kids are at activities, rather than volunteering as a parent to help with those activities. I feel like that is something I need to do to keep myself balanced. Otherwise, I'm just going along in whatever direction is pulling the hardest and that doesn't do anything for my overall well-being.

My son tells me a joke:

Why did the tomato turn red? (next line, in white, lol! Corny, but I giggle!)
It saw the salad dressing. Tee Hee Hee.

I started walking a couple of months ago. Just a brisk mile long walk really clears my head. Even if I have to make myself go, I always feel better. I put my earbuds in my ears and crank up my "walking music" and just enjoy the outdoors. (It helps that I can get outside. LOL) :lalala:lalala
