Happy Turkey Day for everyone in the U.S.

Are you traveling? Cooking? Cleaning? Shopping? Stressing? hehe

I've been up cooking this morning and we plan to get together with the extended family for lunch. Then we always go and pick out our tree! YAY.

We are all sort of ready to get this eating stuff over with so we can get on with the decorating!

I'm not a huge T'giving fan honestly. I hate to cook and it seems like a lot of effort. It's probably because the only family we get together with is the family that is in town already... therefore we already see pretty regularly.

The only great thing is that we are not meeting at my house this year b/c of my work schedule this week. So yay for not having to clean for company. My Christmas boxes are out of the closet and in the middle of my living room. Ready to open. Mocking me, actually. LOL.

We also will start are Advent activities tonight. There are only 24 but it gives us some "wiggle room" on nights when we are busy. Learned this lesson the hard way :)

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

Our big event this year is on Saturday because that's when my daughter will be home. My son and I will go over to my mom's today for dinner and to visit. Tomorrow, I'll do the big grocery shopping and clean the house a little more. Saturday will be pretty much cooking and having family over. I'll probably start decorating the house on Sunday. My daughter always helps a lot but this year she is finalizing all of her exit essays for her Master's Degree and a couple of more papers. So in addition to decorating I'll be proofreading neuroscience papers. They are SO much fun to proofread, it's like blah blah blah etc, all I can do is look for grammar and inconsistencies. It is interesting stuff, though!! My son will move back from college next week so I'll have another household member for a while.

Happy Thanksgiving! I am so grateful for the amazing people at the Pad, both in front of and behind the scenes!

Thanksgiving is here this year, so we're getting ready to get the turkey in the oven, and get some potatoes cooking! I hope whatever you do and wherever you go, you all have a wonderful day!

Happy Thanksgiving! Turkey's in the oven, the house is warm, we have snow outside, and most of my loved ones are here. Couldn't wish for more!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!

Hubby has been busy cooking. I've been busy cleaning.

We are a family of 7 and we have 10 guests arriving this afternoon for the full monty Thanksgiving Feast... Turkey, dressing (in the bird, not cooked in the bird, and StoveTop), green bean casserole, scalloped corn, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce, bread, rolls, and homemade pumpkin pie! If anyone leaves my house hungry, it's their own fault!

Hubby will be shopping tomorrow.
I am having an online party to launch my new direct sales business. So exciting!!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. We had our Canadian holiday last month with the big family dinner. For the US Thanksgiving, I go to Washington and go shopping for Black Friday, getting a lot of my Xmas shopping done.

Happy Thanksgiving to our American friends to the south! Since our big day was last month, today is just an ordinary day. Although I'm happy to report that Canada is starting to have some Black Friday sales even though this is normally just an American phenomenon. Our microwave died last week, and we need to get a new one, so I'm hoping to get a good deal on one tomorrow! ;)

we are digging out from a snow storm all day yesterday and this AM (well the husband is digging out, LOL ... i am warm and comfy hanging out at TLP and doing a bit of scrapping). the snow kinda messed up family travels plans, which was going to be much smaller this year than usual, so no travel or big holiday get together for us this year. we will be playing with the 3 dogs in the snow ... it's the first big snow for our pug pup. my daughter and i will do some baking and make homemade vegetable pot pies for dinner and then we'll probably spend some family time watching football and a movie.

Happy Thanksgiving to those that celebrate!!!

we are stying home just the four of us.
terry is cooking because he's better at it.
i'm heading to mockingjay with my younger boy.
the older one saw it last week and i bet you can't guess where he is. glued to his computer.
we'll eat at the normal dinner time. traditional dinner.
then i'd like to play a board game or something and maybe watch a movie together.
happy thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!

It's just us four at our place in Michigan for Thanksgiving. Jeff and the kids went out skiing and snowboarding this morning and I have a turkey in the oven. Since we always drive in the day before, I buy frozen pre made sides (there's a restaurant at home in Chicago that has amazing sides). And we're trying one of those oven ready turkeys that goes straight from the freezer to the oven. Really low effort here.... but it smells really, really good!

We don't live too close to either of our families and the holidays get really hectic, so we always take this weekend to relax and hang out together before the chaos begins. Tonight we'll kick off our Christmas by watching Elf. Tomorrow we put up the tree here and watch Christmas Vacation. Quality time as a family and I love it! We go back home on Saturday and both kids already have plans with friends that night... got to enjoy the time together whenever we can!

Worked all night. Check. Cooked all morning. Check. Big Lunch with family. Check. Tree chosen and up in living room. Check. Too tired to get the lights on and decorate it. Check. :giggle

Kids are not happy about Mom's laziness. Where is dad anyway? (answer is napping and watching football)

Brewing coffee now. Check.

Normally we host at our house, but my SIL is pregnant and due on Saturday, so they couldn't come and some of our other regulars didn't come this year either, so we ended up at my MIL's house. We went down there and I helped cook and we had a yummy traditional turkey meal and topped it off with yummy pie afterwards. Then we all just hung out and chatter and were lazy. It was really quite nice. :) I think we'll go pick out our tree on Sunday Jen. Last year it took us over a week to finish decorating it. :)

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone as well! We had a nice family dinner, I cooked and hubby fried the turkey. Still in a food coma! :imok
