FINALLY!! The competitive season for gymnastics is OVER and we can have our weekends back for a while!! This weekend was my son's last meet - state. He is now state champ on vault and rings. He placed 2nd all-around in the state for his age group. and all of that came out of one of his worst meets of the season. really, he just wasn't 'on' at all, and had tons of mistakes. so 2nd AA is pretty darn good! so proud of him!! and soooooo happy to not have to sit through any more meets for a while!!

Wow! He did awesome! Congratulations to him! And a big woo-hoo for you on maybe a little more free time!

Congrats to him. The hard work paid off... now back to your regularly scheduled free weekends. ;)

woohoo - congrats to your son!! my daughter starts gymnastics competitions next year (level 3) - i'm not sure what we're getting ourselves into :) LOL!

Congrats to your son!!!!

Our boys start soccer in a few weeks and then baseball starts a few weeks after that. I am exhausted just thinking about trying to keep up with two soccer teams and two baseball teams!!!

That is amazing Rebecca! Congrats to him - what an achievement and on one of his 'off' days, too! Should we be looking for him in future Olympics? :)

Enjoy the break and the extra time that goes with it!

Oh Wow Rebecca you must be so proud! It sure looked pretty impressing on the photos you have on that layout you made with my Mark My Words alpha! Woot and congrats on your son's impressive achievement and woots on having your weekend back! Must mean more time to scrap with us!!! ;)

Carolee, he has set a goal to do collegiate gymnastics at Illinois (former Olympian Justin Spring is the head coach there, and they have an incredible program - tough to get into though. And yes, he would LOVE to go to the Olympics. I think every gymnast has that dream. I just keep telling him to take one day at a time and enjoy each day of it. If it becomes work, it's not fun anymore. Fun is what keeps you going in a sport like gymnastics that requires sooooo much dedication. So we'll see. I have worked it out though that he needs to go to the Olympics when they have it in Barcelona... that way I can go back to Spain again (which I've been longing to do ever since I left the first time), and see my baby compete in the Olympics all at once!! I think it sounds like a good plan, don't you!!
