Happy April Fools!!

By my calculation it should be the 1st pretty much everywhere...except maybe New Zealand as I'm a bit late posting!!

So...has anyone got any April Fools stories to share?? Old or new?? Anyone??

Okay so my DH is a mechanic and this morning he gets to work to see his boss and best friend John under a car. John immediately calls out to him to check the jack as he thinks it is going to fall. SO DH runs over but the jack fails and the car falls on top of John!! DH freaks out trying to get the jack up, shouting for people to call an ambulance and all the while John is screaming in pain.....soooooooo.....at that moment John walks out from behind the car and DH immediately clicks and realises it's a dummy under the car!
He was so angry and stormed out of the workshop...and as he's trying to calm down he realises the date.....

Oh goodness - what a nasty trick! No fooling around here yet. We don't usually do much fooling normally, although it sounds fun!
 
my husband tried to play an april fool's trick on me once.

when he enlisted into the air force i told him there were two places i would not go with him. the dessert and japan.

i got a call from him when he was in training.

"i got my orders! we're going to the dessert!"

"have a nice time, babe. see you when you get back."


yep, it was april 1st. i don't play. :smackdown

And MandaKay I don't know anyone else who does stuff like that...but John is well known for playing tricks.


And I just remembered DH played one on me tonight. I was in the boys room and he's getting ready to go out and then comes in to tell me that he checked the bank and his pay didn't go in today. (this is a normal thing for his work...John has a lot to answer for). Which means we have to go the entire Easter weekend with very little money and I haven't done the easter egg shopping yet.
He only let me stress for a few moments before letting me know it was a joke. grrr.
 
I have a funny one :) sort of....

Back in 2008..I found an old PG test I had kept from DD (I know it's gross I'm sorry..but she was only four months old so it wasn't that old and I'm super sentimental when it comes to those things), well I put it on DH's nightstand with a note and left it there. DD was our third so we were pretty sure we were done at that point. Poor guy game home from work that night got changed and walked right past it, then turned around and just stared at it for about 15 minutes. He didn't get mad or upset, he just said "we will be fine, it will be fine..a baby is always a good thing". Then I started to feel like the worst pile of crap on the planet for doing that to him, so just told him *hanging my head in shame* "april fools"...
He was actually a little dissapointed. Well a week later guess what, I got a real BFP and we had Jack that December. The funny part of this story is that had I actually taken a real test that day, it would have been positive, I just didn't think I was pregnant then (I was nursing my DD and she was so young I didn't even think it was possible).

So everything worked out, the fourth baby brought on major changes..I had to quit my job, we had to buy a bigger house (we were totally cramped with three in our old house)bigger car...it was all ok in the end, but wow that was some year.

So there's my April Fools story, I don't play jokes anymore because I felt so horrible about that one.
 
one of the funniest stories i know is when my mom had to call her family to tell them she was in labor and everyone thought it was an april fool's joke. she did indeed give birth on this day, it is my sister sarah's bday! good stuff!!!
 
LOL great stories you guys! We are not big 'April Foolers' around here. I will have to think on it and see if I come up with any good stories.
 
OMG Jacque I seriously cannot stop laughing! I am totally going to make this when the babies go down for their nap so I can give it to the boys when they get home from school. They are 7 and 5 so you know, they are obsessed with potty talk and all things related to poo...so much for my not playing jokes anymore...

one of the managers where I work posted on his facebook status that he needed to find a one bedroom apartment ASAP.... (he is married with 2 children) and he has 48 comments back... mostly "OMG! What's going on????" and the msg from his wife that said "if you don't put an end to this prank, you will need an apartment!"

His status is now an appology for a really tasteless practical joke!
 
I thought about playing an April Fool's joke here but don't want anyone to take it literally. So I'll tell ya here:

I was going to put in the CT Call thread that the date for the call had been moved up so TLP wasn't accepting anymore applications.

Okay...I know that's mean but I would've put that it was an April Fools joke. But I figured my odds would increase with less apps. LOL
 
the poo muffins are too too funny!! i'm not sure i could bring myself to eat them if i made them though, lol!!
 
Have you heard the ipad one?? Apparently it was on the news that iPad is actually an April Fools joke and doesn't exist...but it seems the news story is the actual joke! My brother was fooled!
