The boy decided he wanted to come home this weekend. I wasn't expecting it so soon as he has only been gone for a week. Yesterday I fluctuated between being happy and ticked off about him coming :giggle

Happy because I missed him, but ticked because it was my first week back at work and wasn't looking forward to 5 hours on the road and I was going to organize my house this weekend. Mommy guilt sucks :dizzy

What I picked up was a very happy young man. He chatted the whole 2+ hour drive home telling me all about the new friends he's made, how they combine food and make dinner together, his classes, professors and that he is loving life :heartslub. Even brought home a tub of laundry but said he was doing it himself and he has started a load this morning :wooot and is heading out on his own to get a few groceries as it's just as easy to take the dry goods back up with us tomorrow.

My 17 year old boy has become such a young man in only a week! :thumbsups

Aww Jaye! This makes my heart happy for you. It's such a great feeling to see them stretch their wings and flourish. You did good raising him mama!

Thanks ladies.

I didn't cry when he moved up there but will admit to getting a bit teary as he made his shopping list then went off to the store. Funny how some things get to you isn't it?

You have every reason to be proud of that one, Jaye, what an awesome young man!

Super sweet. So glad it was a good visit and he's doing so well. Amazing how quickly they grow up and gain independence. :)

I have been thinking about you and how it was going. Glad he is getting along well. Is there a bus between towns? Our trip is a little longer if we were to go get my youngest, but the bus works well. It makes him think about coming home as far as time management. Pretty soon you'll be begging him to come home for a weekend!

Carilyne I was actually looking at train tickets. They have 6 one way passes for $164 and I may go that route for winter as I am not driving 2 1/2 hours one way ( in good weather) in snow, lol. May bring him home by train for Christmas as well, should probably book now come to think of it.

He says he won't be home until Thanksgiving now, which is next month for us.

So happy for you Jaye :heartlub

This (the him being so organized and obviously grown up) is why I so much wanted Sarita to go to Uni, I was sure she would be forced to grow up and at least get more organized and responsible with every day little things...

The train seems pretty reasonable in price.
