when i first started eating it.. I baked it because I didn't know how to make it properly. I was introduced to the proper style of cooking bacon and will not go back

I hate frying bacon too, so I just buy the box of precooked bacon that takes like 10 seconds in the microwave. Ha ha! Clearly I'm not a connoseur (sp?) of bacon. My husband just shakes his head at me.

Mmm. BLT's. Only I hate uncooked tomatoes, so I'll just take a BL. lol. I've never tried baking bacon, but it does sound tempting. I hate when the grease pops out of the skillet and gets me. Ouch!

I too hate cooking the stuff. It splatters all over the place and I always end up getting splattered with pig grease in my face/arms/random other parts. Ew and ouch. I'm vegetarian, but the rest of my bunch loves it. I must admit is smells awesome, but not awesome enough for me to actually enjoy cooking it.

You have the heat under the pan too high. Lower it to the point where you can see that the bacon is cooking, but not so high that the oil/bacon grease spatters. I figured that one out from long experience. The bacon still gets cooked, just a little slower, but it comes out just the same.

That said, I sometimes buy the precooked stuff because my son is nuts about bacon, but I'm not always in the mood to fry it up.
