I just sat down a few minutes ago to catch up with my kids ... my daughter was eating a bag of tortilla chips and there were just a few scraps/crumbs left in the bag. I absent mindedly popped a few into my mouth and was ready to grab some more :pigout ... when something made me peek inside the bag. Guess what I saw ????

A tiny little spider! Trying not to think about the fact that I almost ate a spider ... but it also is kinda creepy because it is so close to Halloween ...

Aside from almost ingesting the odd bug here or there while running/jogging/walking and they want to fly into your mouth ... I don't think anything like has ever happened before?

Anyone else have any near misses with gross things almost ending up in your mouth by accident?

I won't even get started because just thinking about it makes me sick, and I have a migraine but yes, the insect kind.... I ll tell you when I feel a bit less hungry for I won't be able to eat LOL

Okay.... do you watch The Middle? Because as you started your story, all I could think about was this...

EDITED TO ADD: This might make you feel better about *almost* eating a spider. :giggle

*where's the dry gag/puke in mouth emjoi??*

Both of my "almost ate something gross" moments happened while eating out; first one was at Denny's and there was a bug on plate and the other was a hair in my chicken sandwich from Chic-fil-a!!

Ha! Funny ... my daughter was on a kick, binging that show all last summer ... I totally forgot about that scene @tkradtke
The answer is yes, I do feel better about almost eating a spider ... would pick the spider any day over toenails! Gag.

luckily I have not had many of the "eating out" gross moments.

It's so gross...I don't like to eat out much, especially after hearing horror stories from my hubby!! He sees a LOT of kitchens around AZ (he installs/fixes coffee, tea and juice machines) and has for the last 20 years...the photos I've seen I can't unsee!

omigoodness, I'm sorry... I'm laughing. I can just picture a fly going in and if like me, "oh, crap... oooo... is that light that way... I'm going down that tunnel!" Or the cat treats... I'm cracking up, but sorry you guys um, ate/almost ate those things!

Mine are insect related, with no fun stories. Booooring compared to you guys. :giggle

One time I was drinking a black coffee and it was getting close to the bottom of the mug when I felt something not drink go into my mouth which I quickly spat out. It was some kind of bug that had either flew into the cup when I was not looking as I had left the room at one time or was in the electric kettle I had used.

Spiders... once I read somewhere that in our life time we all swallow at least one small spider in our sleep!

I hear you! The few times I've seen the nonpublic side of restaurants in town it has been an eye-opening experience. And not in a good way!

These stories are almost giving me the dry heaves!

I was at a backyard BBQ once and drinking a beer from the bottle and not really paying attention and felt something rather large and definitely not beer-ish going into my mouth. I spit it out immediately. It was a cockroach. Gag. I didn't finish the beer.

I was planning to drink one of those pre-made protein shakes that come in like a juice box. Took one sip and it was obviously rotten (even though not expired} -- it was really, really thick, lumpy and disgusting tasting. GAG!

Omgosh, yuck!! These stories!! Glad I already ate lol.

I was cleaning house one day and came back to get a sip of my coffee. I didn't really look, just took a sip and immediately knew something wasn't right. I went right to the sink and spit it out without swallowing anything. I looked in the cup and there was a stink bug floating in it. *gag* I liked to never got that taste out of my mouth!!
