I used to make lists from several grocery stores and make the circuit to try and save money, but not so much anymore. I go with the store that week that has the 'best deals' or that has the 'most of what I need on sale'. I don't know whether things are busier nowadays or whether it is the price of gas that has changed the way or place I buy groceries.

How about you? What is your 'method' to the madness of grocery shopping?:)

I basically shop two stores every week, Costco (mainly for salad stuff, cheese, and tuna) and Trader Joe's. Sometimes I go to a different store if I need something specific for a recipe that these stores don't carry but that's really only a couple of times a month. I like shopping Costco and TJ's because I know what the prices are going to be so I can plan accordingly.

I let my Costco membership lapse as I wasn't using it enough as I have to travel out of town but so many ppl have mentioned that as thier regular shopping spot,I am rethinking it.

I just do my usual Publix shopping. Love that grocery store! And on occasion we will go to Costco for some bulk stuff.

We mostly go to Walmart since we can get other things there too if needed like tshirts for Kenzie etc. We sometimes go to HEB near our house for some specific items Walmart does not carry or pick up things at Target at times too.

The grocery store closest to my house closed down, and while there are lots of others in the area in addition to Target and Walmart, I just can't get back into a routine! I usually shop at Pathmark, but Shoprite has better deals lately, so I've been stopping there. I tend to stock up once a month and then pick up things as needed during the week at whatever store is closest while I'm out and about.

Yeah, I do the same thing Kim! Gotta love Walmart. I really wish we had a Target in Canada! It is kinda cool hearing all the 'store' names that you are mentioning!:)

Do you have a Zeller's where you are? I know that Target bought a bunch of Zeller's stores and will be a big presence in Canada in the next couple of years. I have a friend in Victoria who is really excited about this.

I have a hatred so deep that I won't ever set foot in Walmart (don't get me started...)

I do hit up a few stores - Target: they have Quorn chick n nuggets for almost $2 cheaper than ever where else and Horizon (shelf stable) milk is cheaper too.
I spend about $100 a week at Trader Joes - they have soooo many affordable items my daughter can eat, and with her allergies that says a LOT! If you enjoy Laughing Cow, you can't beat TJs price - in our town at least!
I also spend about $100 at HyVee (a midwest chain) - the one by my mom's house has a lower tax rate for taxable goods.

It's bad, the store personnel know me by name!

i shop at different stores for different things. i do a big load on the weekend, then usually 2 trips mid-week to restock on fresh veg and meats.
I go to Farm Boy for produce and meat, sometimes Metro for meat and everything else from two local health food stores here, Rainbow Foods and Natural Food Pantry

i wish we had a trader joe's here! i've never been to one but i always hear about it online or on tv

I hit up walmart for most of my items. I thine hit up Kroger for cheese, produce, beans and sometimes milk. Occasionally I will go to randall's but that is only if they have a good sale.

A tip for everyone....make sure you are pricing your things at Costco per oz. When you buy in bulk a lot of times you are getting ripped off because it is cheaper to buy several smaller packages than one big package. But I like Costco and wish there was one closer by : (

This is what I was finding on most things too!

We do 2 stores. One grocery store for meat, deli, produce and specialty stuff. Then Walmart for everything else. Financially we figure we save over $150 monthly by moving our daily items to buying at Walmart. Definitely worth it.

I've boycotted Walmart. . .. eeek! Everytime I go there I have the worst customer service! I'm a Target gal. . . and our local grocery store is Smith's (which is good and familiar). I also shop at Costco and would LOVE to have a Trader Joe's by me! Whenever my husband travels to SEA or CA, I make him take an extra bag to bring home our favorite TJ items~

We go to a local grocery store for just about everything. I've had to stop going to Walmart for groceries because I was buying more than what I needed and that added up very quickly!

I go to a store called Bashas for the meat items, cause they have really good prices. Then my other items I go to Walmart.

My oldest was shocked the last time I took him on a one stop grocery shop that required two carts! He couldn't believe the amount of times we had to load, unload, load, unload, and lug them into the house. He was exhausted! I told him, welcome to my world and thankfully he didn't have two little kids to chase after like I used to..lol!!!!
