I just went through and read the post, Lauren, and I just want to say how much I LOVE it. It is just so cool. My boys love love LOVE to draw and I want to see if I can get them to do it.

but... I am deathly afraid of Mod Podge :(

OK....I've never used modge podge before? What's wrong with it? :) What am I missing....:giggle

well it's water based, and when i work with it w/ paper.. i tend to have issues w/ bubbling, which i'm not a fan of. but i still use it and get mixed results.

Golden has some amazing gel mediums you can use if you don't like mod podge. They tend to give me less bubbles on projects. I think it is because they are thicker?

OH i also read that if you spray you're paper w/ a clear sealer first, then mod podge it, you don't have the bubbling issues... might try that, but that's like 1 too many steps for this lazy chick :P

there's a super easy trick to mod podge to prevent the bubbling. roll it with a rolling pin.

1) apply the mod podge
2) roll over it evenly with a roller to work out all the bubbles. work from the center toward the edges
3) let it dry 10 minutes... no more, no less
4) then apply a top layer of mod podge over the top of what you're doing. let it dry completely.

it has worked for me every time without fail... as long as i roll it. the one time i forgot, my project was a DISASTER.

so you mean you do the under side gluing it on to the project and rollout, let dry THEN mod podge over the top after?

i need to do some mod podging so i'll try this way tonight!

I have never used any kind of adhesive stuff and am just scared in general of hybrid stuff, mostly because I don't know how to use it! I definitely want to try it though.

you could always just use one of those dry adhesive roller thingys i swear by "Easy Stick" by Duck (it's a red roller thingy), you don't nec. have to glue the sucker down. :)

I made one Lauren with my girls, but it didn't turn out quite as cute as yours, but I love it and my girls are proud! I did have some bubbling with the modge podge, but I'm okay with how it looks - It will be great to look back on someday as to what the girls were thankful for! Thanks for the inspiration!
