ok ladies I need some advice/tips. I fell in love with a school....but it's an expensive one so I might have to get a job to pay for it. :( I am ok with that in general. I have always wished I was contributing more around here. I need some help though. When it comes to applications/resumes what on earth am I supposed to put in the last jobs section?? I haven't worked in like 8 years and the last jobs were like teenager jobs cause I had Gabe at 19 and quit working before that. I am just at a loss and I feel like that is going to hold me back so much and I really want to get this school. Please give me some advice :)

and also...can you guys some lots of prayers that this school does work out somehow some way? I loved it...the kids loved it..everyone about it is awesome! I so want to do the best I can for the kids and I think this is it!

I was told this at some point and i can't recall if it was at college or what.... but you can put:

Family Leave date/date

good luck!!!

I'm glad you found somewhere you all like,I don't think it will hold you back because you have been looking after your children and home schooling them so to me that would be a quality good luck with the forms I'm having to do them for my husband there such a chore

I think you should definitely mention your digi designing! It shows you are self motivated and creative :) Also, are there any 'back to work' short courses in the area? Like a refresher course for mums who have been out of the workplace for a while, that could be a good place to start both in terms of brushing up your skills and for something else to add to your CV!

crystal i was thinking the same as kate. i would DEFINITELY put your designs there. it shows that you've decided to do more than just sit at home (which i know is not at all what you were doing, but unfortunately it's the way it's perceived often).

good luck with this! i'm excited for you!!

So nice to hear you've found a school you love!
Like others say; mention you designing! You are such a dedicated and creative person and it would be a shame to not let them know that! I really hope it works out for you! Good luck!:beat

Yep... definitely agree with everyone else to mention the designing stuff. I'll be praying that everything works out for your new school. That's a wonderful feeling to find "the one" for school! :)

I hope you find a job you love! Plus you are likeable; I'm sure they'll wanna hire you no matter what your resume says. : )

aww! You guys are the best!! I went to Gymboree today and talked to the manager there...cause well...I know their products hahaha! She was really nice and really helpful about the application process and I asked her about the not working and things and she said to just put what I have done recently that could be in anyway helpful...at a place like Gymbo having children and knowing the lines she said was a huge plus.

I am going to keep looking around and try to find the right fit. I do'nt want just any job ya know? I definitely want it to be something I don't mind doing. We will see! Say lots of prayers and send me lots of good thoughts that I will find something!!!

Yay Crystal!!! Good luck and saying a prayer that you find your right fit!!! How far is the drive - did you end up deciding on a school that is a little further away?!

I'm so happy for you guys Crystal!

I think we're kinda in the same boat about searching for a new job. I really like the idea of "family leave" and you definitely must put your designing on your resume. You'll do great!

The drive is like 30-40 min. It's really not that much and it's an easy drive. I think it's worth it based on this school. I really loved it and the kids were excited about it so I am hoping and praying that it will work out!

I have no additional advice but wanted to wish you all the best in finding a job!! and for your kids to transition well to the new school.
