My computer is wigging out and need a bit of advice. Normally hubby would take care of this but he is out of town for the week and I don't think I can survive without my computer that long.

So last night I noticed that any type of list on my computer that needs to use scrolling is broken. It will scroll until it gets to the end of the list. For example, I was working in PSE and needed to crop my photo. I went up to the aspect ratio window and tried to change it to 4 X 6. However after selecting that particular ratio, the area kept scrolling until it reached the bottom aspect ration which was 8 X 10. This happens most every where on my computer, but not everything is affected.

Any suggestions as to what is going on? PLEASE tell me it isn't a virus of some sort. I ran my virus software and it comes up clean, but maybe it is smarter than AVG?! Help, anyone!

I'm assuming you already rebooted? Did you change the batteries in your mouse? Sometimes it's just bad/dying batteries in a mouse.

***GRRR, I just typed this and guess what happened as soon as I typed it? Yep it stopped working. See below in red for follow up***

Oddly enough, it has started working again. In the process to get it to work I did reboot it, but that didn't work. However, as I'm looking at my mouse the green light is out which means I should probably change the battery and that could be the culprit. Thanks for responding ladies! Now here's to hoping the mystery problem stays fixed :)

Okay I changed the battery in mouse that didn't work. Yes I am on Windows 7, and I'm using a wireless mouse. Anything else you can think of that might work?

Is it your scroll lock button that is off perhaps?

Also, check for a tiny hair or fuzzy on your mouse sensor. I've had that cause issues a couple times in the past.

So the mouse problem stopped. Now firefox won't work. I tried to reboot the computer. That didn't help. Any thoughts? Thanks for your help! Currently using safari which seems to be working ok.

There's actually a known Firefox bug that causes weird mouse issues. Google your version for the fix. You just have to fix your universal settings.
