Today is national Gingerbread House day and Gingerbread Decorating Day! It seems like gingerbread is super important since it has two separate holidays today! In honor of this very special holiday you never heard of before, I must ask…
Do you like gingerbread?
Have you made a gingerbread house before?
Have you ever been in a gingerbread house making competition?

I am not a big fan of gingerbread so I tend to stay away from these cookies. I also have never made a gingerbread house or entered a competition to make one. Although one year while on a cruise that had one and it was fun to see what people created. My MIL is a home ec teacher and hubby says that she used to teach how to make/decorate them as part of her class during the holidays so he is well versed in making them.

I like gingerbread cake with Cool Whip, and gingerbread men cookies. I've made gingerbread houses with my former girl scouts and with my grandkids using kits. My former husband's second wife and I once tried to make the houses from scratch ... it was a huge fail, lol!!!

Do you like gingerbread? Yes but only if it’s soft.

Have you made a gingerbread house before? Yes but only with graham crackers.

Have you ever been in a gingerbread house making competition? No because I would fail miserably haha

I personally really like gingerbread, but we haven't had any for a long time. We don't do houses or anything anymore because as my youngest tells me "gingerbread makes me gag" :giggle

I love a soft gingerbread snack cake with lots of whipped cream. But was never a fan of gingerbread cookies - I'm sorry, but it seriously creeps me out to bite the head off a character like that!! LOL

One year we tried gingerbread houses with a kit from Joann's. We finished them with a glue gun. Doubt we'll try again (smile).

Gingerbread is pretty good. I have made a few gingerbread creations over the years. Never entered a contest though.

It has been a long time since I've baked much of anything. It's more fun with kids (and my kids are all grown up).

My daughter made this from scratch! I was going to be gone all day and she told me that she and her friend would make a gingerbread house. I said, "Okay, as long as you clean up the kitchen!" I walked in and saw this on my counter. My jaw dropped. I couldn't believe she had made it. Ha! There's even a tree inside, you can't really see it from this angle. Apparently, it took them about 5 hours.

I always have a gingerbread house decorating day with my younger kids and their friends, which we did this past Saturday. But I just buy the pre-made stuff.

I don't usually like gingerbread, but my mom made some gingerbread cookies this year that were so good! I think I liked them because they were soft. I don't like the hard gingerbread.

Never made a house or cookies with gingerbread. I am big fan of ginger though. The cookies are delicious. And, I cook with ginger often. Its great when I can get fresh ginger root in the store.

Do you like gingerbread? Yes
Have you made a gingerbread house before? Yes (although not from scratch)
Have you ever been in a gingerbread house making competition? No, it seems to be a USA thing.

We tend to pick up a kit from a Christmas market and ice that on one of the days of December.

Do you like gingerbread?
Not really, especially if it's not soft.

Have you made a gingerbread house before?
Yes, I've made lots of gingerbread house. Mostly with a purchased kit or graham crackers. We always add more candy than what comes in the kit to make the house look better.

Have you ever been in a gingerbread house making competition?
Nope, but I love to watch the gingerbread house making competition shows on Food Network.

My kids have made gingerbread houses from a kit when young but we haven't done that in many, many years. I am not overly crazy about gingerbread cookies but I love gingerbread coffee flavoring. I found a huge bottle of it at Winners last month and have been enjoying it in my coffee. I was back there last week and the jumbo size was sold out but I stocked up on a few of the regular size bottles so will be enjoying this for quite some time.

Do you like gingerbread? Yes, although it's not my favorite and only if it's fresh
Have you made a gingerbread house before? Yep, from kits. I prefer the ones that are premade and you just decorate them.
Have you ever been in a gingerbread house making competition? only with my family

Beautiful gingerbread house

Do you like gingerbread? Yes, I love gingerbread
Have you made a gingerbread house before? Yes, especially when I was younger, I think my last house was when I was teen.
Have you ever been in a gingerbread house making competition? No, never, my houses are a joke, lol

I don't really like gingerbread, but I used to love making gingerbread houses with my kits. Sometimes we'd buy the kit with the pre-made gingerbread pieces and then just stick them together with frosting and then decorate. Sometimes I'd buy graham crackers and let them make their own designs. Nobody every used to eat the gingerbread pre-made pieces because they were always so hard. but they did pick the candy off and eat the extra frosting (ewww!) :giggle
