Get Outside and Play! |Pad Patter 12.29

Our neighborhood is huge and you hardly ever see kids outside. It's sad really. I always encouraged mine to go outside as often as possible when they were younger.

Here ... it is rather cold and raw and threatening to rain or snow. Ick ... if it were 50 I would be all over a nice long hike!

Kids don't play outside here. We live in an apartment with no yard. Our living room window overlooks the train tracks. Certainly don't want the kids playing there. There are several apartment buildings in the area. There is one other child in our building, but we don't see her very often. That's really why I have Brody in the Boys and Girls club after school. That's where he gets time to play with his classmates, cuz you know recess is a joke these days. My mom had the boys this last week & she has a huge yard & garden. They were outside every day. I took next week off to be with them. I'm planning several field trips.

Oh, and that's also why we have lots of cousin time throughout the year. The cousins are home-schooled & don't have that many friends. The boys are 11, 8, 6, & 6. They always have fun together.

It is rainy and cold. I rearranged furniture to a fire roaring in fireplace and the sound of my boys building a tent in their room! that is pretty cool

It is summer here. It is lovely and warm.....beach weather actually. We are going camping at the beach in a weeks time...in a tent, no power just provided facilities which include the must have of a flushing toilet and a hot shower for the end of the day. I cant wait. My children are outside all the time atm.

We live in a mostly college neighborhood, so there aren't many kids around. It's not unusual to see them out playing in the front yard when the weather is nice, though!

I love getting outside to play (and by play I mean rake the leaves, mow the grass, or walk the dog) when the weather is nice. Right now it is cold and raining, though!

It's funny how when the wifi doesnt work all of a sudden the kids seem to remember the outdoors and the trampoline and stuff exists!
