Hello everyone !

Now that the warmer weather has arrived, I spend a lot of time in my garden with my son.

Just this morning, I was out there with M and we moved a compost bin.

Because, yes, last night I had the brilliant idea of moving a compost bin. Let me explain: a few years ago I bought a compost bin for cat litter, but it didn’t work as I’d hoped, so I gradually emptied it, though I hadn’t moved it.

This morning, I plucked up my courage and M gave me a hand; we emptied it and moved it to the vegetable patch.

Here’s a little glimpse of part of my vegetable patch.

For those of you who have a vegetable patch, do you have a compost bin?
Would you mind sharing a photo of your vegetable patch?

We have an allotment for growing fruit and veg, we have three large compost bins at the back of our allotment which we throw any grass cuttings, weeds or veg that has been bruised or had by slugs / birds etc. Our compost bins have been sat for around a year now, so hopefully be ready to use next year once all broken down tidy.

What a amazing big garden you have! Living in a small city we don't have a big garden to grow veggies, I'm glad I have some green in my garden and a place to sit, so no compost bin, only have a big green bin (next to a plastic and paper one) in front of our house, picking up every week by our Community recycle/trash cars

What a sunny and pretty spot for your garden! We don't have a huge yard, so most of my gardening is in pots around our patio or with perennial flowers that I don't have to replace every year in a few flower beds around our house.

Someday I hope to grow some food. Last time I tried was in 2006 and I got a handful of tiny carrots and not much else. I would also love to compost. I'm very interested in environmentally friendly things. I'm good at recycling and reducing waste and re-using items instead of buying disposables. But my food waste still just goes in the trash, I'm sorry to say.

I live in the desert and we don’t have a big yard so and gardening is a challenge. I mostly just keep some herbs growing in pots. Spicy Peppers do well here but there’s only so many jalapeños you can eat. :giggle I’ve tried composting but we don’t have enough “green” to heat it up so we mostly ended up cultivating hoards of fruit flies.

We are just now out of the frost window and actually had a little frost yesterday morning, so I have not planted a thing yet. I'm planning to go this week and pick out some plants. I usually do cherry tomatos, jalapenos, bell peppers, and sometimes bigger tomatoes, and I do it in pots on my deck so that the deer and other critters stay out of it. I would love to compost, but I have just never tried it.

We recently had a really bad storm go through our area. Thankfully our home was fine, but here was some flooding and some trees that fell down in our neighbourhood. It was the high winds and heavy rains that caused so much damage. I am thankful that the much needed rain filled the dams by 12% which is great as we have a Winter rainfall climate.
We do not have a veggie garden, but we have some pretty flowers.

I love seeing your garden Gaelle! All we’re growing right now is raspberries. We don’t have a compost bin but my mom does and I’m jealous. Here’s a page picturing our raspberries when we first planted them:

We still have morning temperatures around 1C or 2C so it is still too cold to plant anything. Waiting patiently for warmer weather! :) We don't have space for veggies, but I do have a perennial and annual terraced bed in the backyard. Needs lots of TLC and weeding already (too cold for plants, but not for weeds!)
