Today is Peanut Butter Fudge Day!
My mom used to make the best peanut butter fudge. She really doesn't make much candy anymore and I need to get her recipe and try to duplicate it. DH loves it.
I like fudge, but I can only do a little at a time. It takes me a good while to get through one piece usually, but I used to really enjoy mom's peanut butter fudge. Good memories :)

Do you like fudge? Chocolate or peanut butter or something else?
Do you have a good recipe?

Yes, I love fudge especially when it just melts in your mouth. For that reason I don't really like fudge that has nuts in it. I will eat it but would prefer without. As for flavors, chocolate (of course) and peanut butter isn't bad either.

I don't make it but always loved getting a box and bringing it home when I visited the Longaberger Homestead 20 years ago. I also have cousins that spend the summers on Mackinac Island and there are lots of good fudge shops there. One cousin will order it online to get shipped here... only problem with her is she always puts vanilla in my box even after I have told her many times that I hate vanilla! One time she was up there visiting and texted asking what flavors I wanted in my box. I told her chocolate or peanut butter or both in a text that she acknowledged before she bought it. I got chocolate and vanilla. sigh....

I much prefer it without nuts as well!
I'd probably be a little bummed about the vanilla as well...not a fan.

I do like fudge, but like you, I only need a little bit. My MIL makes the best chocolate fudge with walnuts for the holidays and I love it! So good! I think I made fudge with my mom as a kid, but I don't think it was very good and I haven't tried since then. I'd rather eat some that someone else makes. :giggle

i still have her last from 1992 in freezer, and cookie sheet she made it in, fond memories of dad putting the black walnuts in burlap bag, and running car over to crack the outer shell

I love fudge. Michigan is known for its fudge among many other things.
I've never tried making it, I remember my mom making it ONE time when I was younger.

I should try.

We used to make fudge as a youth group and sell it for camp money. My mom never made fudge though, she made hard candy like homemade suckers. I've made it once or twice as an adult, but I prefer to purchase it from the good candy stores. Just a little goes a long way for me, and the candy stores have lots of flavors to try!
I love a chocolate nut, or vanilla nut. Peanut butter is good too. I had a peppermint one once that was super delicious!

I LOVE fudge chocolate fudge is my favorite although I recently had some sugar cookie fudge at my sisters that was freaking fantastic and stole her recipe and will be making it soon! I also have had mint chocolate fudge that was pretty darn good too

Sugar Cookie Fudge:
1 Can condensed milk
1 bag white chocolate chips
1 bag of sugar cookie mix
1 stick butter
Sprinkles

Mix all together on stove on low heat till melted about 15 mins (stir all the time so it doesn't stick or burn)
Pour into a greased pan 9x13. Let Cool at room temp about 2 hours and eat!

That is hilarious how your dad cracked the nuts. That would be a fun story to tell.

I make Mamie Eisenhower’s fudge recipe every Christmas. We like it with added nuts but the two grandkids are allergic to nuts, so I now make a nut-free pan for them.

We visited Mackinac Island a few times because my husband’s best friend lived in the small town across from the island. We ate all kinds of wonderful fudge on the trips. The locals call the tourists fudgies!
