I am the proud owner of a peach tree and am currently picking (and devouring) peaches every day, so here's today's question:

If you could have any fruit tree, what would it be and why?

It's so hard for me to choose! I would probably say grapefruit because I have always loved them, but I also love avocado (and guacamole!) so I might have to go with both.

I have to choose only one?? omg Monica this is a horrible horrid choice! I am a fruity person! and I love so many! I couldn't pick just one! I have sooooo many favorites! I really love fruit! *L* we go through so much here weekly

Mangos....raspberries...strawberries...pineapples...necturines...peaches..oranges..apples...grapes...watermelons...plums...avacados....

I wish I lived closer to you... I love peaches! I think if I lived in a warmer climate year round I would have an avocado tree, because we eat avocados more than peaches.

You sound like my daughter Kari! She consumes more fruit than any person I’ve ever known haha

We eat avocados a lot too but it drives me crazy trying to find some that are perfectly ripe!

We have the same problem. I did find a hack the other day to ripen avocados. It said to put a banana in a bag with the avocados. Close it and wait overnight and it should ripen the avocados. I'll have to try it next time I need a ripe one.

I would also have a tough time choosing just one. I love avocados and all citrus. And I like pretty much all fruits.

We had peach trees when I was little and that was by far the best fruit I've ever eaten... a tree ripen peach warm from the sunshine. I'd love to have one of those again!

You liked them warm?! I prefer them cold from the fridge. They are so good right off a tree though!

I want to plant peach trees next year. And apple and pear. And some blackberry/raspberry bushes.

The peach will probably come first because it's hard to get good peaches. And I can't decide which apple types to plant!

(What type of peach tree do you have?)

At our old house, we had 10 mature fruit trees, 3 apple, prune plum, damson, apricot, sour Cherry, two peach and a nectarine. They were a lot of work in the summer but we loved having all the fresh fruit straight off the trees. I think I gained 15 pounds while we lived there with all the desserts, jam and preserves I made. When we moved to our current home, we only planted one fruit tree, a nectarine, which has produced the most wonderful fruit over the past 20 years.

I’m impressed you want so many trees! My one is almost too much work for me haha

I don’t know what type it is except that they’re the kind that peel easily and are ripe in August. If you’re going to bottle them (I never do but I have in the past) then you want them to peel easily. Sorry I’m not more help!

Ten mature fruit trees would be so overwhelming! That’s a full time job! I’m glad your lone nectarine tree is wonderful; I think I’d prefer nectarines because I usually scrub off the peach fuzz.

I just want them all...
except peaches and avocados (but I do like guac) :giggle Those are really the only ones I dislike, also watermelon.
We had a plum tree when I was a little girl. My dad planted it for me :)
