Fridge/Grocery | Pad Patter 3/12

What is in your fridge that should probably be thrown out?
So. many. leftovers. We have so many issues related to food as the kids are only here half the time for dinner + my husband is on a mostly vegetarian diet (and I am decidedly not) while he deals with some colitis-related issues.

What is a staple for your family?
My son brings his lunch to school about half the time so we always have sandwich bread, turkey, cheese, yogurt, squeezy applesauce, and Capri Sun on hand. My husband eats almost exclusively Trader Joe's food so we always have some type of no-taste super-nutritious rice/cheese cracker-y type things + TJ's (frozen) veggie fried rice + grits. We've had apple cider and orange juice since September as DH makes his own wassail every day. I always have Diet Coke.

Do you order online for delivery, pick up, or go shop yourself?
We shop ourselves; it's a whole process. It's just hubby & me Monday and Tuesday nights so I might run out Monday afternoon for a little of this and a little of that OR we run to TJ's OR we go out to eat. We have the kids every Wednesday and Thursday night but not every weekend so if it's a "long" week with them, I will meal plan + grocery shop Wednesday night. If it's a short week with them, we'll buy enough on Monday to get us through Wednesday night, go to my parents' for dinner Thursday night, make/order pizza Friday night, and then decide Friday evening or Saturday morning what the two of us will be doing for meals for the weekend.

What is in your fridge that should probably be thrown out?
I just tossed a few leftovers yesterday, so we should be good...I bet have some salad dressings or sauces that I should check the date on though.:hummm

What is a staple for your family?
Bananas, apples, carrots, cereal, milk, eggs, bread, cottage cheese, chicken nuggets, eggo waffles

Do you order online for delivery, pick up, or go shop yourself?
I shop and both Smith's and Costco - I shop myself at Costco and I usually do pick up at Smith's. I like to meal plan, make a list, and put in my order online all at once (takes me about an hour). I loooove grocery pick up!

What is in your fridge, that should probably be thrown out? Not much. We consistently eat leftovers. And with a large family we go through condiments quickly!
What is a staple for your family? Milk, yogurt, fruit, frozen veggies, meat, deli meat, cheese for sandwiches, bread, sour cream, cottage cheese, beans, rice
Do you order online for delivery, pick up or go shop yourself? I'm like you @jk703 I started doing grocery pick up during covid, at first I didn't like others picking out my produce...but I got over that. LOL It's just so nice and saves so much time not to have to go in and do the shopping.

We recently got an ALDI in our town and I will go in there once every week or 2 and get a few things. I do love the ease of getting in and out of there...unlike walmart.

What is in your fridge, that should probably be thrown out?
Probably some old leftovers and a few sauces and almost empty condiment bottles in the door.
What is a staple for your family?
Cheese. DH says I have a problem.
We also always have eggs, almond milk, and some type of fruit.
Do you order online for delivery, pick up or go shop yourself?
Online order for pick up on my way home from work is the best thing EVER!

What is in your fridge, that should probably be thrown out? Probably a few bottles of some kind of sauce. And possibly some leftovers that happened to get shoved towards the back of the fridge that nobody knows it there because it's not right in front of their faces :eyeroll
What is a staple for your family? Butter, Milk (regular milk, coconut milk and almond milk), fruit, veggies, meat, cheese, sour cream, peanut butter (or some other type of nut butter), yogurt and raw sauerkraut.
Do you order online for delivery, pick up or go shop yourself? I shop myself at multiple stores.

What is in your fridge, that should probably be thrown out? I'm not sure. I'm pretty good at keeping the fridge cleaned out. But I think there's some peppers that are probably done.

What is a staple for your family?
Buttermilk, Cheese (various types), pepperoni, salad, milk, ketchup, eggs, heavy cream, half and half, butter.

Do you order online for delivery, pick up or go shop yourself? Both. I'll usually order pickup from Sam's Club. But I prefer to pick up at Kroger and Aldi. Aldi uses Instacart, so more expensive. Plus, you never know what you'll find at Aldi. They are quick to get in and out too, so it doesn't take a lot of time. And Kroger* often has mark downs and clearance items. I like to pick up marked down meat, vegetables, and such to save money. They do a bag of imperfect produce for $1 and often it's good for at least a week! I got frozen veggies once for $0.25 since they had a coupon and were clearancing out old packaging.

*(Smith's, Jay C, Ralph's, etc depending on your state)
