I ran in this awesome running skirt today:

Except mine is in black... I tell ya, it's sooo awesome! I received this running skirt as a birthday giftfrom my mom after my running mentor recommended it and I ran in it for the first time today. All I have to say that it ROCKS! Seriously! The awesome compression shorts don't budge a bit and there was no chafing. Every woman needs one of these. I currently own one in black but I'm thinking I'll want more than one...

SERIOUSLY AWESOME!

I do love it. The little pockets in the shorts are perfect for gel.

Here's what mine looked like ON me. This was my friend's first half marathon, so I ran with him / paced him. He took my Couch to 5k clinic last spring and look at him now. :D

i saw you post this on Facebook renee - i think i may grab one .. i'm not near the runner as you girls (just starting!!), but i do like to be comfortable :) LOL! plus it's cute!
 
Make sure you get the one with the longer shorts (these are like 5" I think?). Some of them just have the panties inside. No bueno. No likey chub rub. LOL

I was supposed to do a half and then I injured myself. I'm still toying with the idea but I'm still kind of scared to do it, ya know?

lol!!!! I have another skirt that has short and there was a lot of chub rubbing going on because they kept riding up... Needless to say I have not worn these again...
 
These look great, but I don't think I could spend $65+ on them. Also - have never run in a "skirt" - is there an advantage over just reg. shorts or compression shorts?
 
What are these called? They look really cute and I'm in the market for a new pair of running skirt!

I only have Nike skirts and I ran the Seattle Rock N Roll Half Marathon in them:

But they're getting old and the compression shorts do ride up a little bit.
 
My mom got mine from a runner friend who's friend owns a running store... She guessed that I would be a medium (I kind of told her too. lol!) and the sizing was bang on. You can order from their website but some running stores do carry them.

Amanda, I'm guessing there is no other benefit over just plain compression shorts other than the fact that they are super cute. ;)
 
I have one of those too and LOVE it! Oh wait, I have two. LOL. One black and one in gray. My only complaint is that for the first mile it keeps slipping down, but after I sweat enough to keep in place it is one of my favorite things to run in.
 
I got mine on Amazon, same brand, a bit cheaper.

My husband got me the zebra print one for Christmas but its too small (even though it's the same size as my other one). I'm hopeful I'll lose a few pounds. :giggle
 
I truly can't imagine running in a skirt. I don't even wear shorts! (only black leggings or capris).....you ladies are always showing me new and interesting things....

I love it but the shorts do ride up about. Like Angie, I don't like the chub rub. I'm in the market for a new skirt or 2 so I'll have to check them out!
 
i was actually thinking of getting the one w/ the skirt and the capris for winter - has anyone seen those in real life?

and amanda - for me i just like the skirt bc it is cute and covers my booty! :)
