Today is Clean Your Floors Day and, while I desperately need to, I am not doing that today lol. But it did get me thinking, and I'm super curious:

What kind of floors do you have in your house?
Do you love them?
What is your secret to cleaning them?

I have wood in the main living space and carpet in the bedrooms. I would love to replace all of my flooring, but $$$. I have yet to find the perfect way to clean the wood floors so I could use some suggestions!

I have very old and wonky wooden floorboards in the living area, and carpet in the bedrooms. I wanted to replace the carpet but I don't think it will happen (yeah … $ and also floors are too wonky to put hard flooring down). The woman who lived here before us had a small dog and a large aversion to cleaning!

Oh, had I only known. I did mine last weekend. I have a vinyl plank floor, except bathrooms which are tile. I like it better than the tile that was here before as it's not quite so cold in the winter, and not quite as hard. I wish I could have done wood, but the installation would have probably cost me more than the product in terms of prepping the floors.

I mostly just vacuum a few times a week. But I did decide to give swiffer wet jet a try since I found some reusable micro fiber pads for it -- and that is what I used last week. I had an O'Cedar Pro Mist that I liked, but it decided not to work anymore.

I just recently moved into a condo which has Vinyl Plank Flooring. The original flooring was likely wood. Wish it still had the original with character. I vacuum & swiffer wet jet. I believe they make some safe for wood floors but would look up the flooring manufacture recommendations.

What kind of floors do you have in your house? Wood looking laminate in every room except the tile in the bathroom and foyer.

Do you love them? Yep!

What is your secret to cleaning them? Cleaning Lady! But actually I have a robot vacuum and I do dust mop them if needed. If something gets spilled, I will wipe it up or use my O'Cedar mop. The cleaning lady comes once a month and does the heavy duty cleaning and mopping. With my back, I can't mop the whole area or even use something like an Oreck vacuum. I have a lightweight cordless vacuum to spot clean small areas if needed.

I thought about mopping yesterday but with everyone home it’s just not worth it lol I’ll wait until the kids go back to school.

What kind of floors do you have in your house?
Tile in the entry, kitchen & bathroom, carpet in our bathroom (yuck), and fake wood everywhere else.

Do you love them?
I don’t love the fake wood because it never looks clean even right after mopping. I prefer tile in kitchens and bathrooms and carpet everywhere else.

What is your secret to cleaning them?
I use a Dyson vacuum for dry cleaning and a norwex mop with hot water for wet cleaning. I love that the mop is quick and easy but sometimes it takes a lot of muscle to get up the sticky stuff.

I have tile in the main living areas, fake wood and carpet in bedrooms. Our house has flooded twice during the 26 years we have lived here and so flooring has been replaced in stages.
I can't say I love them, but I am used to them and they are less allergenic.
I have an awesome cleaning lady (yay Africa!) who uses the Kirby (from the woolen carpet era) and mops the rest.

We have tile in the foyer and around the fireplace, vinyl plank in the library and front bathroom, sheet vinyl in the other bathrooms and utility room, engineered wood in the kitchen, and carpet in rest.

The vinyl plank is about 4 years old and I like it but it’s in low traffic areas so I don’t know how I would feel about it in larger areas. The kitchen floor is about 18 years old. It’s fine, but showing wear under the breakfast area chairs. The rest of the flooring is original to the house (1995) and badly needs replacing but we have SO MUCH STUFF that I don’t know how that would even be possible.

As far as cleaning, no secret, just vacuum and/or mop when absolutely necessary. It wears me out to do it. I miss the days when we had a cleaning service. I would love a robot vacuum, but again, too much stuff.

We have acacia wood floors in the most of the first floor and carpet everywhere else. I mop the wood floor about once a week with an OCedar mop and 1 teaspoon of tide powder in hot water per a recipe I found on the Go Clean Co website. Then I also go over it almost every day with a Dyson stick vacuum.

We have manufactured hardwood in the bedrooms and tile everywhere else. It's so hot here that tile is a good option. When we moved in, the house was about 60% seafoam blue wall-to-wall carpet. I'm sure it was actually lovely when new but it was dated and worn when we moved in so I slowly eradicated it over the years. Now we have area rugs in various areas over the tile. That way we can replace/wash the rugs as needed or if we want a new look.

We have a robot vacuum. I mop the wood floors with just a bit of water and then treat them with some hardwood spray from time to time. I've tried various ways to clean the tile but the best is to mop them with warm water mixed with just the tiniest bit of Spic-N-Span powder. It cleans well with no streaking. I bought a Mopsy that I saw in an online Facebook ad and honestly, it has 100% improved my mopping life! It's so much easier to use than any other mop I've tried. I don't see the one I bought but it's sort of like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BSL6S4H...d_r=974a7359-5253-461c-980c-7aa0156c6d7a&th=1

We have hardwood upstairs (living areas & bedrooms), tile in the bathrooms & laundry area, and carpet in the basement (living areas and bedrooms). For the hardwood I love this combo vacuum/mop - it took me a while to make the splurge but I'm so glad I did. I got it on a prime day sale on Amazon.

What kind of floors do you have in your house? Carpet in the family room and bedrooms, hard wood in the hallway and big living room, tile in the kitchen and bathrooms.

Do you love them? I kinda wish we still had carpet in the hallway and big living room as it's cozier, but it's definitely easier to keep the hardwood clean.

What is your secret to cleaning them? I have zero cleaning secrets. Lol. I am the worst cleaner person ever, but I do LOVE my Norwex dry dust mop for the hard wood so much. It's amazing how clean the floors feel after just using that thing! It gets every little speck of dust, dirt and debris!

Here's the MOP, but you gotta have THIS PAD

What kind of floors do you have in your house? Sheet vinyl in the kitchen, original (1956) tile in the bathroom (small black and white tiles on the floor, and blue tiles on the walls with black accent tiles at the top), the rest of the house is hardwood (1956) that is in TERRIBLE shape so I have wall-to-wall carpeting in the living room that's in poor shape too as it's 30 years old and rugs in the bedrooms.

Do you love them? I'd love to get the hardwood floors re-finished, but I rent so I don't want to invest the $, plus I have so much stuff in my house. I do love the vinyl in my kitchen it's only about 5 years old.

What is your secret to cleaning them? No secrets, I use a mop in the kitchen, scrub on my hands and knees in the bathroom, and vacuum the rest.

What kind of floors do you have in your house?
Our kitchen and main hallway are hardwood, which is a really odd choice for a kitchen floor (think of all that water that could spill). And tile in the bathrooms. And a neutral carpet everywhere else (up and down).

Do you love them?
I would love to replace the whole carpet, but like many here have said, $$$! Maybe when I win the lottery.

What is your secret to cleaning them?
Vacuuming up all the dog fur! Dry mop on the hardwood and bathroom tiles. Lots and lots of dog fur turning into dust bunnies!!!

What kind of floors do you have in your house? A combination of hardwood, tiles and carpet
Do you love them? They're ok. I don't love our carpet.
What is your secret to cleaning them? I have zero secrets. I do love my Dyson vacuum, but I loathe mopping.
