Anyone else use Flickr? I've used them for sharing photos on my blog as well as a kind of online backup system, but as of this week they have changed their "grab html/bbcode" so that your photos have to be public in order to share them anywhere. Typically, I have kept my photos private so this completely messes up my photo sharing!

I'm not super private or anything (since I totally share pics on FB and my blog :flirty), but I did like keeping my photos private on flickr so that they could not be downloaded.

Hmmm...I didn't know about this change. I'm an on again off again Flickr user. I try to upload my digi pages there and I have used it for blog pics before, but lately I haven't been using them. I have my pics set to private and I'm not sure I would want them shared openly, even though I'm not super private online either.

I just posted one for an upcoming challenge and it posted fine. Mine are all set to private. I didn't have to change the privacy setting.

It's barely visible, but when you go to grab the code, underneath the drop down where you choose the size, there are 3 radio buttons… embed, html, and bbcode. Choose html or bbcode and it should work. A lot of my stuff is private there, but I've never had any issues. When I post in CT forums here, I always copy the code and then pull out the actual image link, delete the rest, then add an image tag before and after (or use the insert image button).

Photobucket is great for that, uyou can choose what you share or not, most my albums are private....and youy can get the codes never the less....

This is how I used to do it, but as of dec 18, that's no longer an option.

I checked yesterday and the option is still there for me. Weird.

Mine gives me that option. I click the share button, then click Grab the Link or Grab the HTML/BBCode. Embed was showing as the default, but I can change it to the others.

I haven't been on the computer this week since we've been out if town so I can't check, but maybe they've fixed it. Last week, it showed the options but embed is the only one I could choose.

sounds like maybe there's hope Melissa. that would be great!
i've never used Flickr. something about it put me off right from the get-go, and i never really gave it a shot. I use photobucket for sharing photos.
