Hi. I've decided to jump into project life. For now I won't be buying to kit. I bought some fabulous cards from January's BYOC and I plan to do some cards digitally and then print them out as well as printing out some blanks to write on. I've discussed PL with DH and he wants to help me with it. He took photography classes in college and was a film major so he is looking at it as a chance to be creative.

I plan to start taking pictures today. In the past we've only taken photos for big things like a vacation so I'm trying to switch gears to photographing the every day. For my first page I'm not sure what I should do. Should I just jump in taking general photos of our day ? It's just DH and me, well also our cat and dog. Do I need to make an introductory page? What do most of you do for that very first page? It's such a change in mindset to think about keeping my camera with me throughout the day! I'm really looking forward to starting though! Thanks so much for your help! Happy scrapping, Roni

I think a lot of people did an intro page, but you can always come BACK to that at the end and just start with week 1, if you want. Whatever inspires you at the moment, is the best place to start!!

Maybe a good idea for the first page could be a photo of each of you (and / or together), a picture of your house, etc. Kind of a "this is our life right now" kind of page. Then just carry on from there with what you're doing throughout the year. Even stuff that seems boring and mundane will be fun to look back on later.

I don't know anyone who has finished one of these projects and said they wish they hadn't done it. But I know lots who say they wish they'd started / finished it!

That is so fun that your hubby is going to do this with you! How fun! I can't wait to see your first page!

Be sure to check out the threads in this forum for each week where we share our layouts. There are a couple girls that don't have kids and are posting really great layouts each week (Michelle and Cristina come to mind) focusing on their every day lives. So definitely check out their pages as inspiration of what to take pictures of.

If you have a good camera phone, start snapping throughout your day. Once you start doing it on a regular basis, it will become second nature to whip out your phone and document.

Personally, I'm waiting until the end of the year to create a title page. I want to include my favorite pics from throughout the year, so I'm in a minority group that is not doing a title page just yet.

Check in frequently with this group- it's a great group with a ton of inspiration!

You guys are soooo helpful! I am new to TLP and feel so welcome! I'm so happy I found you and found out about PL during one of the birthday chats. Later I'm going to download some PL freebies I found. I also plan to print out some of the journaling cards I bought here this weekend. Happy photo taking everyone! -Roni

I'm glad you're starting this project, Roni! I think it will be great to look back to in years to come. And I'm so jealous your husband wants to help! :) I've been printing out a lot of things for my PL album from the store here - I guess it's my digi mindset that wins!

As Amy mentioned, I'm doing Project Life and I don't have any kids. My pages are on my blog here. Nothing special has happened during these first 3 weeks of the year, so it's mainly little tidbits of our life. Which is precisely what I want to document in my album. :) Many of my pictures are of food, because I just love to photograph food. :) I have done P365 in the past, so even though this is my first PL album, I already knew what kind of things I would be putting in.

I second the other suggestions you got about the title page - you can just wait and do it later on. I did mine already, very simple, with pictures of us.

I liked having a "beginning" for my first page. I included photos of each member of the family (me, daughter, son, dog and two cats) with our ages and where kids are in school/college. I used a little digi and a little paper with cute brads and flowers with 2012 and called it good.

I think it's great your husband wants to help. My kids text me photos and I use a lot of screen shots of texts with my "away at college" daughter as well. I'm sure you get cute texts from hubby you can include!
