I've been a fan of Mixed Media layouts for a long time. Drooling on Pinterest and lately I've been watching a lot of You Tube videos. I've went out and purchased some products and am in the process of making my very first Mixed Media 'real' layout. Anyone else do this? And is it okay to share here in the gallery when they are not digital products?
 
I've been thinking about doing this too. Intimidated, but really want to play & get messy. :D

decided to share here as an uploaded file instead of in the gallery. I'm just so excited about it! AND it was so much fun!
 
Love your first page @Sokee !!! I think I'd be intimidated after the first layer of stuff went down & be scared I'd ruin it! LOVE how much detail you have!
 
funny you say that at first I was like did I use too much of the cut out part of the paper that I used as a stencil with my texture paint but once it was done It would of gotten lost if I did a smaller section.

Oooo.... it looks wonderful, Barbara! (In my head, you are still Sokee as your first name, even though I know the story). I love the pinks and the drips!

Michigan is a weekend trip for me... I'm in NJ! Elisa... where are you?

@jk703 @Sokee Indiana! Yep! But I'm right on the border of Ohio too so that's basically correct, lol! Liberty, Indiana in the 2nd smallest county in the state!

261 miles apart. LOL I just looked it up. I'm going to Dayton OH in late summer early fall with my mom and sister. That is where my 1st cousin lives. We really should meet up!

My daughter Anna (who is in the photo) is expecting her baby Aug 31 so It is up in the air when we will be going. We are staying at my cousin's home so it doesn't matter.

I know right!!! When I met up with Valorie Wibbens in November it was so much fun!! But it would be great to do a 'crop'!
 
lol! I know me... and even when meeting people in the past... I say "Try." I end up listening too much... and talking a bunch too! IRL I'm a bit more quiet, but once I get comfortable, I'll talk and talk and talk, etc. We are going to do Philadelphia in May, so I'm excited for that! I don't expect to scrap, but I expect to take lots of pictures! If only we can have those Digi Night Outs that they have by Courtney and others! In the middle... for a weekend! :P

That would be awesome!! I'm often in Dayton since I have family there as well. Let me know as the date gets closer & I'll definitely try to meetup! My sister is expecting in July & another cousin in August, so summer is up in the air for me too, but I'm generally pretty flexible!

@jk703 I'm like that too! I can be talkative online & then I'm super shy in person sometimes! I never know if I'll be super quiet or immediately talk & talk!

A crop would be so fun with lots of scrappers would be so cool to go too! The last time I was at any kind of crop was when I first did paper scrapping, oh 17 years ago as a teenager.

that is gorgeous!
i have been doing more real paper scrapping lately - including trying water color backgrounds. but that is as far as i got with it. it's definitely fun to play around with the real stuff ... but oh the mess i make!

i wish we all lived closer and get together often. that would be so fun.
