Ok why is it only me struggling to get into this,I'm on about page 240 so not at beginning and it just ain't grabbing my attention,I feel I've come in half way through a series but checked and am reading the first one, maybe I'm not in the mood and need to try again later lol

The first book is a little hard to get into but it is worth it. So keep reading! I promise it gets better.

I'll carry on I'll try reading it during the day when I'm not tired or I may go start it again

I'm having a little trouble getting into the first one too, but mostly it's because I've been too busy to read until I fall into bed at night and I only read about three pages before I fall asleep. I going to keep at it because of all the rave reviews. :)

I think it sometimes hard when people have REALLY built up your expectations too. LOL We might have done that...

HAHAHA! Yes this! I am always disappointed when people build something up too much. Just keep plugging if you can and try to forget how much we love it! LOL

I am taking the train tomorrow for a 5+ hour ride and I am taking the first book with me! I bought it after hearing it from you, so it better be good! :giggle

Well, I'm into book two and it's already moving along WAY better! yay! :) I'm actually cleaning the house tonight and I really want to be reading. Sigh.

ok, dark fever or water for elephants- which one should i read first???

i want to feel like i cant put the book down! I just finished Glass Castle last month and LOVED it!

I'd go with Water for Elephants. Only because the Darkfever book is a little harder to get into and then you'll have to read the next four books too! :) Water for Elephants is all contained in one book. Not a super pick-me-up type of book though.

I TORE through Glass Castle. I loved it too! The other one that I loved and tore through recently was the Guersney Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. Good book and educational! I didn't even know about the occupation of the Guersney Islands. I actually didn't even know where they were! OH and if you haven't read the Book Thief by Markus Zusak... DO! It's so good!

I just read that last month too and it was SO good, sad...but so good. That author has another book called Half Broke Horses that is good too.

and Karen, I have the Book Thief on CD to listen to on a trip I have coming up!

Water for Elephants is a decent story. I honestly can't say I loved it, but I was glad I read it. It's hard to compare it to the Fever Series because they're simply SO different. However, I did LOVE the Fever series, so I would have to say read Dark Fever and start the adventure!

ohhhh man....thanks girls!!! Maybe i'll just try to whiz through elephants and go on to the fever series for FUN- or maybe i'll just see Water for Elephants in the theater and bypass the reading-ahahhahahahah! of course, i DID buy the book....oy!

Can you believe I'm still having trouble getting through OUTLANDER??? I want to read it so bad, but it has grabbed me where i cant put it down.....does it happen further in the book?

I think we need a book list of MUST READS stickied somewhere!!! :giggle

Awesome!! Who else would be in? What are we thinking... like a monthly book with forum threads and maybe a live chat?! Would that be SUPER FUN!?!?!!? Let's brainstorm!!

im still plodding on but getting nowhere im on the verge of giving up lol,yep id be up for a book club
