What are your favorite super bowl foods or game foods?

Mine are dips of all kinds. I love trying new hot and cold dips out..such as buffalo chicken or BLT dip. . So many tasty choices

And a household favorite is chicken wings. We love all kinds from honey bbq to sweet chili.

And being from Wisconsin fried cheese curds or mozzarella sticks are always a hit too. Or meat and cheese trays

For game days, not just the Super Bowl, we'll grill hamburgers or sausage. If we do sausage, I'll also cook peppers and onions as well. We usually have chips and dip. Fresh fruit and veggies. :)

Do you make the fried cheese curds? I love them when they are good (Culvers has fabulous ones!), but so often they are bad - not crisp, or bad breading. I'd love a good rec for yummy ones!

Do you have to watch the game to eat the dip?

Cream cheese block with orange marmalade poured over & crackers
Cream cheese with added dried lavender (or herbs de provence) & crackers
Costco queso and Costco salsa (either Jack's or the mango kind) & Scoops

I have made my own beer battered cheese curds... but we buy frozen ones a lot or get carry outs from milwakee burger co. During happy hour and get their jumbo ones...

I just got a new recipie for this hot bacon dip that's soooooo good
I'm a dip addict

Hummus and triscuits
Chips and dip
Nachos and cheese sauce
Mozza sticks and marinara sauce

Um, did you like them?

Don't leave a girl hanging! Recipe, please?

Or is it a family secret?

Ohhh I love beer battered cheese curds..lol they were good. We have even tried bacon wrapped ones. Let me see if I can find the best recipie and I'll share.
.

  • 1 pound WISCONSIN cheese curds (or cubed mild cheddar)
  • ▢ 1 cup flour
  • ▢ 1 cup beer (+ 1-2 tablespoons as needed) ( I personally find the cheap stinky beer is the best)
  • ▢ 1 egg (beaten)
  • ▢ 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ▢ 1 teaspoon table salt
  • ▢ Oil for deep frying ( like peanut oil or canola.. veggie oil just doesn't taste right)
Instructions
  • Heat oil in deep fryer or skillet to 400 degrees. If using a skillet ensure enough oil is added to cover the curds (approximately 2").
  • Mix flour, baking powder and salt together.
  • Add beaten egg and beer and mix till combined. The batter should have the consistency of thin pancake batter. If it is too thick add additional beer as needed. If it is too thin, sprinkle in a little flour.
  • Deep fry one cheese curd to test the batter if needed.
  • Working in batches, add cheese curds to the batter and evenly coat then lift cheese out of the batter with a spider or slotted spoon and let the excess batter drip off before placing in the oil.
  • Fry for 1 minute then remove curds to drain on paper towels.
  • Let cool slightly and serve.

I have also done in air fryer.. but this way .. well the grease just tastes more real.. :)
and like I said you can also bacon wrap them.. I cook the bacon almost all way before wrapping around the curds than frying.. if that makes sense.. and use a tooth pick to hold the bacon on
