Fast Five: Transportation|Pad Patter 1.27

1. Have you ever ridden a city bus? Yes but not often
2. Have you ever ridden a motorcoach? first time, I was 17 and travelling to Brisbane (over 1500kms away) with my best friend. The travel agents told our parents that to go on (the far more comfortable)train would be dangerous for us innocent country girls as we would have 6 hours in Sydney all by ourselves - so instead we were stuck on a coach for 24HOURS!! and then the same on the return trip - never, ever again!
3. Do you have a driver's license? Yes, got it when I was 18
4. Have you ever ridden a train? lots (wish we had fast trains in Australia, they are the best)
5. Have you ever ridden in a limo? yes, once when we were on work bonus trip.

Bonus! Have you ridden on a plane? Yep, have to if you want to get anywhere from here...

1. Have you ever ridden a city bus? Yes, way back in highschool we went to the big city (Sydney) and got to ride the bus, it was fun, but crazy busy. I also caught the school bus every day from grade 3.
2. Have you ever ridden a motorcoach? Yes. Virtually all of our school trips were travelled to in a giant bus, so comfy, much better than a regular bus!
3. Do you have a driver's license? Yes! I do quite enjoy driving, but I live in a relatively small town, so it is never too busy. I HATE driving in our big cities, and I don't do it, lol!
4. Have you ever ridden a train? Yes, a few times. Some for fun others to get places.
5. Have you ever ridden in a limo? I honestly can't remember... I feel like yes, but I don't know when. How bad is that...

Bonus! Have you ridden on a plane? Yes, at least once a year we go up to see my family, and that involves a plane ride because we live in Tasmania. We could take the boat but hubby gets seasick, and time/money it is more expensive to go on the boat and then drive all the way to Mum's.

1. Have you ever ridden a city bus? Yes, but it's been years unless I count the double-decker bus in London.
2. Have you ever ridden a motorcoach? Yes, touring Vancouver and then Alaska.
3. Do you have a driver's license? Yes, although I just realized that I lost it and cannot find it anywhere.
4. Have you ever ridden a train? Yes. Several times, including to and from NYC to meet up with 6 scrapping friends.
5. Have you ever ridden in a limo? Yes, to a concert with my daughter and her friend and her friend's mother.

Bonus! Have you ridden on a plane? Yes. Too many times too count.

This is such fun to read and I had to play along because question 1 gave me the story I needed for the challenge about family history! thanks grin

1. Have you ever ridden a city bus?
Never in a city I lived in but there was this one time in N'olins....

2. Have you ever ridden a motorcoach?
I did. That should actually be documented for my personal Timeline. Won a trip to DC while in high school. Bliss!

3. Do you have a driver's license?
Yep but thank to mom, I had dressed up (no jeans, Sunday go to meeting top over dress pants) and went soon as I turned 16. Failed the written test. Got up before even finishing - I knew how many I could miss and I'd already missed my quote. Tears. Six foot tall, built like a football player with Dolly Parton's chest, sigh. Tears. Grrrr! Still mad at them.
Trooper took one look and apparently melted. He took me for the driving test - to save time when I came back to redo the written. Handed me my license when I turned car off.
Mom was SOOOOO mad, lol. Whee! (I should doc this for timeline too)

4. Have you ever ridden a train?
No and it's hurts so bad, I love love trains! Just not willing to part with several hundred dollars *just* to ride one. . . yet.

5. Have you ever ridden in a limo?
Not that I am aware of. . . those big long SUV ones look so nice...

Bonus! Have you ridden on a plane?
Yes! Several times for trips to nursing conventions and my first non work ride was to Disney Land in Florida. Whee!

2. Yes, every time we travel east to visit my in-laws, we take a C & J bus from the airport to a bus terminal that's closer to their house. I was also in band in high school and for longer trips they chartered buses instead of making us sit on school buses.
3. Yes
4. Yes, mostly when we traveled all over western Europe.
5. Yes, we had a limo after our wedding. I'm thinking there was another time I rode one too but I just can't recall where or why right now.
Bonus: Yes, but for some reason every time we travel by plane, there's some issue/delay/complication to getting to our destination! (I even made a page about one trip for last year's MOC!)

1. Have you ever ridden a city bus? Yes, I was born & raised in Chicago, my parents didn't drive. It is how we got around, took buses, transferred to the subway or elevated.
2. Have you ever ridden a motorcoach? Yes, on school trips. Also took the Greyhound to & from Arkansas to visit my Aunt & Uncle & cousins. Took the motorcoach to drive in to O'Hare from our sleepy little town a couple of hours away from Chicago.
3. Do you have a driver's license? Yes, but I hate to drive.
4. Have you ever ridden a train? Yes. We took a train out to San Francisco & back. We were on a train traveling from Sweden to Germany, also took a train in Copenhagen to see a castle.
5. Have you ever ridden in a limo? Yes, it was quite common to have them to drive family members around for funerals (in Chicago). I've also ridden in one on a happy occasion, but I can't remember why, other than we were served food & beverages.

Bonus! Have you ridden on a plane? Definitely, lots of times.

1. Have you ever ridden a city bus? Yes, when we lived in S. Florida as teens we'd go all over on the bus!
2. Have you ever ridden a motorcoach? I too had to google this... at first I thought you meant like an RV (which I have traveled in) and I guess I have taken Concord Coach Lines from home to the airport in Boston. Does that count?
3. Do you have a driver's license? Yes ma'am! Funny story about that... I never had to take a driving test to get one! ;) In Florida as a teen, I took Driver's Ed in school and at the time a Drivers/Learners Permit looked just like a photo license with a P under restrictions to designate it. We moved to Maine that summer, and the permits here are slips of paper. No matter what I said to the lovely person behind the counter at DMV, I could not convince them that it was a permit... My mom told me to shut up, and they gave me my license. True story.
4. Have you ever ridden a train? Yes... but not for travel, for fun. I've ridden the one in the White Mountains in NH several times, and there is a trolley museum here in Maine that I've visited several times with my kiddos as well.
5. Have you ever ridden in a limo? Another yes for me... but only once. For my dad's 70th birthday, we rented a limo and took him to a Japanese hibachi restaurant for the night. Very cool, but expensive!

Bonus! Have you ridden on a plane? Again yes... my uncle is a pilot, so for my 10th birthday he took me and my brother up and let us FLY it! Way cool! And that was just the beginning, lots of plane trips since. My youngest wants to be a pilot. Have any of you ever heard of Young Eagles? Where pilots offer free rides? It's a great program, check your local airport.

1. Have you ever ridden a city bus?
I rode a shuttle bus back & forth from the Seatac airport. Does that count?

2. Have you ever ridden a motorcoach?
I had to Google what a motorcoach is. My family owned a motorhome for a couple of years when I was a kid. We went to Florida (and back) in it. I live in the county next to the Motorhome Capital of the World so you'd think I'd have ridden in one since then!

3. Do you have a driver's license?
Yes. I have a love-hate relationship with driving.

4. Have you ever ridden a train?
Yes, I've taken the South Shore train from South Bend to Chicago a few times.

5. Have you ever ridden in a limo?
Yes, just once for my sister's wedding.

Bonus! Have you ridden on a plane?
Yes, I think I've been on a plane four times -- as a toddler, as a 10-year-old (and by myself as this was pre-2001), to Washington State (see above) to visit a scrappy friend in 2004 or 2005, and to Florida in 2006.

1. Have you ever ridden a city bus? Yep, not my preference. I'd rather use the Subway.
2. Have you ever ridden a motorcoach? Yep, mainly for day trips for school.
3. Do you have a driver's license? Yep.
4. Have you ever ridden a train? Yes, I used to commute to NYC. We also have taken them to Florida and had those sleeping berths. FUN!
5. Have you ever ridden in a limo? Many times - proms/weddings, trips to NYC for a Broadway show or a Bachelorette party.

Bonus! Have you ridden on a plane? Yep, many times.

1. Have you ever ridden a city bus?
Not that I can remember. :think

2. Have you ever ridden a motorcoach?
Yes - school spring break trips when I was in junior high. One year was to Niagara Falls, the other was to the Washington DC area.

3. Do you have a driver's license?
Yes. Good thing, since all the chauffeuring of my kids I've done over the years might be a little risky otherwise. :giggle

4. Have you ever ridden a train?
A couple of times from my hometown in west-central Illinois up to Chicago and back.

5. Have you ever ridden in a limo?
Many, many times. I traveled for work and the car service they used to transport us to the airport would often send the stretch limo if they were out of sedans. My neighbors in my apartment building thought I was some kind of secret celebrity.

Bonus! Have you ridden on a plane?
Also many, many times for the above job. The first time I ever flew commercially (I'd been on a small private single-engine plane once previously just for fun) was when they brought me down to interview for the position. After I had the job, I flew at least every six weeks (sometimes up to 3 times a week) for about 3 years. It got to be routine, and especially if the project required graveyard shift hours, I'd be so tired that on the flight home I'd sit down and buckle my seat belt and immediately zonk right out, waking as we landed and were pulling into the gate.

1. Have you ever ridden a city bus?
Yep, for years! Never got my very first new car until 2010. When I lived in Hartford, Ct, had to take the city bus everywhere.

2. Have you ever ridden a motorcoach?
If you mean, busses, many many times---traveled all over the country.

3. Do you have a driver's license?

Yep, since I was 16, back in 1955. Back then, Driver's Ed was a class offered in high school. Nothing you had to pay for, like today. My dad made me take the Winter course so I would learn how to drive in ice and snow. SO glad he did!

4. Have you ever ridden a train?

Only one time when I was 5 years old and we moved from Pennsylvania to Connecticut.

5. Have you ever ridden in a limo?

Not than I can remember.

Bonus! Have you ridden on a plane?

Oh my, yes! Again, all over the country. BUT---I will no longer ride in a plane. Too many bad experiences, and don't like all the negative things I read about in the papers concerning out of control passengers and nasty employees.

Now----May I add one?
Have you ever ridden a motorcycle?
YES YES YES!!! I am a die-hard biker from years back. Rode for about 50 years. And my own bike! Don't like being a passenger on a bike. I want control! If I crash, it will be my fault. Won't ride a two wheeler any more because of my age, BUT if I ever hit the Lottery----my first purchase will be a three wheel motorcycle!!!! Bike Week, here I come!!!

Okay, these answers are going to put me at being a pretty sheltered country girl!

1. Have you ever ridden a city bus? NO
2. Have you ever ridden a motorcoach? NO
3. Do you have a driver's license? YES, 16, being a country girl you need one!
4. Have you ever ridden a train? NO (does the one at the zoo count?)
5. Have you ever ridden in a limo? NO

Bonus! Have you ridden on a plane? One time I went from Detroit to Minneapolis to visit my sister as she was living there at the time. I took my daughter Anna with me, she was four months old. Now she has a daughter that is 5 months old...... keep thinking I need to start flying to see her! She lives in Colorado and I'm in Michigan.
