Explorers | Pad Patter 27 July

So yeah, exploring grocery stores.... meanwhile, the shelves are almost totally bare at Kroger and they don't close to 8/14. I think I will go take pictures so I can scrap this sad, sad occasion. I sure TLP has a kit for it...

I would buy everything at Costco, but they don't have everything....

Sounds like something I would do...... take a photo and scrap it. Sorry!

I agree I get a lot of my stuff at Costco, I love that they have gotten mostly organic fruits/veggies/meats for an affordable price, but you can't get everything there!

Gridlock & 10hr work days do get in the way of exploring _ even DS is beyond the age of fascination with diggers of all sorts, I feel your frustration Cheryl, but can't begin to imagine how you survive those days Carrie! (what's a Mystery Spot?)

The 10-hour days are brutal but, luckily, only last two months so I can deal.
The Mystery Spot is a visual illusion touristy place in Santa Cruz. You can check out their website here to find out more about what it is. I think now that the kids are older they will like it a lot.

wow! sounds very cool and even the hiking trail looks awesome! i hope they love it too!

This might sound whiny, but for some of us it is a big deal (I keep denying it but it is happening). They are closing 17 Kroger stores in our area, including the one just 1.5 mile from my house.

I'd be sad too if they were closing our Krogers! Having one nearby again (after living somewhere without for 5 years) was actually on my list of pros when we moved last year.

My last bit of exploring this summer was a month ago today. I took my boys and a niece on a scavenger hunt at the next beach over, with the help of my sister, and we spent a couple hours learning about their little community while the kids filled up their bags with fun prizes. I went into labor that night, so haven't done much exploring since, though yesterday we did take the baby on his first "walk" at the beach!

I'm hoping to start doing some geocaching with my kids once the weather's cooled a bit.

Awwww...congratulations!

We have not explored much this summer, but I hope to change that with the 3 weeks or so I have left. There are a few trails and things I would like to hit before school starts. We've gone a few places, but mostly those places we visit often.

We've basically been hibernating. Watching lots of movies and binge watching shows. We've been focusing on some home improvement projects.

We do have plans for this last couple of weeks of summer - hoping to hit the beach and the creek.
