I got three layouts finished and posted on Saturday, did my nightly backup... all is right with the world. Sunday, I open ACDSee, it asks me to backup, I do, then it restarts and... NOTHING! No more supplies, no more photos...

AAACCKK!!

Took it work today and {crossing fingers} seems like my boss has worked some magic and has all the information. Bought a new one today and will transfer the info tomorrow. Hopefully, I'll be up and running on Wednesday.
 
Oh no. :( Hope everything works out. I have a dead one that just sits here waiting for a miracle. I live in constant fear that the one I'm currently using is going to die. Ugh.

So sorry! Hope you get this figured out! Makes me want to look into online backup!
 
All my supplies are already copied onto a shiny new 1 TB ehd. I'll do the photos next.

THIS is why I'll never be able to go to a Mac. He's my IT department and knows PC's inside and out.
 
Eeeeks! That is horrible! So hope your boss is able to recover your stuff.

I have a nightly backup that runs. I also alternate my backup EHD's and store one at my office (for catastrophic stuff).

I used to have Mozy but didn't renew when they had the huge price increase. Haven't done online backup again yet. Some of my friends are using Crashplan right now.
 
Not so good news... turns out only a few tags are there in ACDSee and only on my supplies. All my photo tagging is gone! So we're going to Plan B now.

Looks like I won't be scrapping for a while ; (
 
Oh no! That's every digi scrapper's worst nightmare! I hope you can get your information retrieved off it! So sorry!
 
Happy again! I restored my ACDSee backup from 4/14 so I only lost a week ish of tagging so I can live with it.

If anybody else here uses ACDSee, BACKUP your catalog today!!
 
Ugh! You've been on a roller coaster haven't you? I saw your earlier post and losing your tagging and my heart sank for you! Thank God you did your backing up! :)
