E-Mail Inbox | Pad Patter 7.29.16.

No. Never ever ever EVER have I had that many emails in my inbox. I want to tap that pic to open your email and go through them for you rotfl! Here's my Gmail... zero unread. My other email account has 12 cuz they are the receipts and "your item has shipped" emails for some online purchases. Once everything arrives I'll move or delete the emails as necessary. Oh and there's the receipt of payment for DS's school. I do need to make a "schoolyard 2016-2017" subfolder. Anyway, I don't think I've had more than 20 unread emails ever. I also don't like snail mail to accumulate. DH just plops mail in a pile: he had mortgage statements for 9 months just mixed in with a bunch of junk mail. I almost had a heart attack when I found that pile in a kitchen cupboard(!).
Sorry the date isn't on the pic but I promise it's from today.

This made me giggle :giggle . I can see you reaching out to tap the screen!

I did have a hotmail inbox like that. It took me a full day to delete everything and/or set up rules for moving forward. Even with that, I have way too many emails. I subscribe to Unroll Me, but that doesn't even help as much as I'd like. I really just need to stop signing up for every email list. :/

My gmail accounts aren't so bad. I have two and rarely use them. I have about 1200 in each of those. :/

Oh, I didn't mention that I have 3 other e-mail accounts. You don't want to know about those... :whistle

If you want to feel good about your hoards of emails, most of the unread are promotional stuff I keep meaning to unsubscribe from or download links (to be fair I've had this email addy 14 or so years)View attachment 167695

YAY... this makes me look so organized. Thank you, Jennifer, hehe.

I would go nuts if I had lots of unopened emails that were important! :hairpol

Yes, I'm retired but I cleaned my email out every single day then esp when I got emails that were for my boss - an elected state senator. For most of my adult life I worked in places that had 24 hour turn arounds so it's just a habit as well as my nature.

Fortunately, my IP has a really good junk filter but not on my phone. booo hiss I usually clear out my phone email weekly or daily if I feel like it. And I do mean totally trash stuff. That my iPhone doesn't get the good junk filtering bugs me no end. In between my digi emails are the penis enlargements and the more recent cr*p such as bed bug removals and nursing school offers The good stuff is on my computer so I don't worry about missing a sale or coupon!

I do unsubscribe in fits and starts. I now have apr 300 read emails in both my accounts and later this week they are going down to zero. What I know I'll need will go into various folders I have. Again, this habit came from work practices. I never wanted my home computer to be worse than my work one.

btw, I hate gmail but have to keep it since it's linked to several accounts and I really have a good name. :badputer

It would drive me crazy to have that many unread emails in my account. I currently have 4 unread in my inbox and 17 unread between all my other folders. I go through my email every morning and move it to relevant folders or trash it. I do keep a lot of emails in my Family/Friends folder. They almost act like an online diary. Last time we went on vacation, I unsubscribed to a lot of my shopping type email lists and haven't bothered to resubscribe to most.

This is so funny! i currently have 400ish personal unopened emails, only half a dozen social ones and maybe 300 promotional emails.
My promotional file unread emails last month was 4000+, too many. So I went through and unsubscribed to a heap, mostly paper scrapbooking sites and deleted everything except the last 50. Made me feel good for a little while anyway!

I go through mine like twice a day. I only keep emails of things Ive bought so I can do the tracking thing. Once they arrive, I delete the emails. I like an empty box in all folders! I have 5 saved folders. Some from correspondence from my sons teachers and other IEP related info. I then have a folder for family history and from when I found my real fathers family. I keep codes sent by companies for discounts, then delete after they are used. I try to keep mine cleaned out as much as I can.

Folders Folders Folders! I try to keep 25 or fewer in my inbox.

Yes!!! Folders.

Right now I have 17 e-mails in my inbox, and that's actually quite a bit for me. They've all been read, but I need to leave them there until I address them. Adoption stuff, library books due, birthday wishes, etc... It'll be cleaned out by tomorrow. :)

well this inspired me and i spent a couple of hours deleting emails dating back to 2015. download links to stores that no longer exist are a bit pointless to keep!

Oh I can't even look at pictures of that many unread emails without getting twitchy. How do you know if you have something that needs to be read or not in that mess! :giggle I was at Cedar Point this weekend, so I didn't really do much on my phone, so by yesterday I had about 140 unread emails, I cleaned that up first thing once we got in the car to come home. Unread messages mean I need to do something with them. All others get deleted or foldered.

delete delete delete unread and not a worry.
a few weeks back I opened my yahoo email. It is my primary.
everything, I mean everything was gone!
I went oh well.
the next day everything was back, and I felt like a weight was added to my life.
hahah
there is nothing that would change my day to day life in any way.
I check mail in am, and pm. check the boxes, hit delete or spam and done.

OMG - you guys are ... I don't know. Did you know most email providers have rules.. like "mark as read and move to SPAM folder" or "this sender goes directly to my delete folder...". Between work and home I receive minimum 300 emails per day. I DO NOT have any un-filed or unread at the end of the day.

My first stop when I get up is to check email in case there is something important from work - then I review and move or delete the others. The only time my email gets overloaded - and then the max I had unread was 2500 - was when I came back from a vacation with no access.

I never read them all, usually only the subject or first line. From that I can tell whats what, and then I spend five or so minutes sorting and deleting. I think I would have a nervous breakdown if I saw 47,000 unread emails.

My inbox currently has 15 emails, most of which are receipt copies to make sure I receive the goods or can track them.
I have probably hundreds more in folders which I keep for some reason - like receipts or stuff the kids send, bank statements, etc. But they are filed appropriately. I currently have 23 categories under which I file read emails to keep.

Are you all mad ? LOL :crazy( I always wanted to use this smily )just junk filter the stuff , how can you stand an inbox like that? quite apart from the nasty stuff that can be attached to the junk. Currently I have 16 unread mails , and 10 of those are pinterest, and they get sorted ,at night when insomania strikes, from my kindle. I actually remove the trash too, every 2 weeks or so.....my desk in RL is messy though :giggle
I empty the trash and junk folders every day.
