There are zillions of posts being made now that we’re celebrating iNSD. I navigate them pretty easily, having a decade of experience in this forum, but I think there are different ways to handle it. When there are forum events that lead to many new posts all day long do you have a method for reading them or do you just click casually and randomly? Is this the same or different from how you read the forum in quieter times? Do you think this thread will have the same number of replies as the average Chatty Pad question or will fewer people even see it, lost in the deluge? :giggle

First of all, I think it was the Pick Your Prize event that led to my learning how to "Mark a Forum as Read." During the days this activity is live, the first thing I do is go to the Pick Your Prize forum and mark it as read. Because the first page I always look at is New Posts. It's the first bookmark in my browser bookmark bar (see how much I love TLP? in fact, I currently have 5 TLP pages in my bookmark bar :love

So . . . I follow my standard TLP routine and click on my bookmark for New Posts. I go mark Pick Your Prize as read. Then I go back to New Posts. From there, during events, my method changes. Because ordinarily, I just work my way down the new posts, repeatedly using that bookmark to return to New Posts after each thread I read. But during events, I made use of the navigation bar at the top of the page, where if you scroll up right now you see Home > Forum > Community Pad > Chatty Pad. In New Posts, I pick an event thread, and then, thereafter, instead of clicking on New Posts, I click on the event's forum (i.e. NSD).

After that, it depends on my mood and the amount of time I have. Years ago, when I was a homeschooling mom, I was much more casual and random about clicking on posts, taking my time and doing just about everything. I'd get to everything eventually. Now I work a 40 hour week outside home and it terribly shortens my available time for TLP hmph so I'm kind of picky about which threads I open, depending on whether I have time to do the activity.

I hope everyone is having fun celebrating scrapbooking this weekend. :yippeeI'm guessing there will be fewer responses to this thread than the Chatty Pad questions posted in non-event weeks, but I might be surprised!

I ignore the new posts feed during events, and just check on the threads I want to check on. I'll swap and change which threads over the course of the event. Won't see everything but enough that I can manage.

Bart hops this way and that with joy. You never know where he'll turn up next!

I do the same with going to the pick your prize area and mark that as read, then I start at the top and work my way through each section, especially on a fun busy weekend of lots of posts. Other days, I will just click New Posts, then start looking at them that way. :)

I missed It in the deluge lol I scroll new posts most often but have to scroll too much during busy events, so then I’ll scroll by forum section.
