Playing off of @bestcee 's thread today, what about favorite dreams? Do you remember dreams often? Lucid dreams? Sleep paralysis issues? Repeating dreams/themes?

I've always been fascinated and love to talk about dreams. I remember in college looking up the meanings with my roommates and talking about getting a dream interpretation book. My friend later gifted me a deck of dream interpretation cards. They're all illustrated--I should reference it more often.

I remember one as a kid around Christmas-time. I wanted a Nintendo DS that year, and I dreamt having one on my nightstand. Very disappointing to wake up and it not be there lol! I did get one though at Christmas.

I love dreams, lol! I used to do the same as you - look them up, hidden meanings, books from the library! :giggle
Sad that I hardly ever remember them. And when I do they don't even make sense!

I am a frequent dreamer. I don't really have any GOOD dreams that I remember, though. Most of the ones I remember or that I have repeatedly are nightmares. :(

I kept a Dream Journal for about 2 years (several years ago). I was going through a very difficult time in my life and I immersed myself into my dreams. At first it was an escape mechanism, then became an obsession. I got lots of answers and was even "visited" by lost loved ones. I had to record my dreams immediately upon awakening or they were gone. There are "dream triggers" however and I learned how to use them to recall my dreams later in the day. The best dream I ever had was when my loved one walked toward me, in a field and told me that he was okay and that I needed to let go. That was a real turning point for me.

When I want to, I can still go into my dream state. My favorite thing to do is to "find things that I'm looking for". I've done that a lot. Fast-forward several years and I delved into my dreams again, but not so deeply. Almost every night for months, I found "new rooms" in my "house". According to my dream analysis studies, that was a good thing. It meant I was expanding my thinking and imagination.

I know I dream, but 99% of the time I forget them within minutes of waking up, even if I try to remember them.

I’ve has two reoccurring dream themes. The first was when I was a child. I dreamed there was a tornado coming, and when I looked outside to see the tornado I saw a bull running down the street. Lol!

The other I’ve had repeated times as an adult. I dream it’s the last week of classes before I graduate from college, only I realize I never went to my math class, so I can’t graduate. Then I wake up and remember that I have three college degrees and there was nothing to worry about!

I dream but usually don't remember all the details and soon forget them. But a common theme I used to dream about was that I was smoking, even 5 yrs or more after quitting, and I would wake up feeling relieved that it was just a dream, I hadn't really started up again. I haven't dreamed that in a long time but I remember how I would wake up feeling ashamed and panicked that I had slipped up.

I dream, but I rarely remember them upon waking unless it was a nightmare. I had a couple of repetitive nightmares as a child/teen/young adult, but the older I get the less often I suffer from nightmares thank goodness.

I still have a lot of dreams about my mom who has been gone for almost 25 years. I don't remember details but just recently I had a dream about Mom, Dad and Martha.

The recurring dream that I have is not being able to find my vehicle. Guess that is more of a nightmare because it is usually a dream where I'm leaving someplace in the dark and I'm by myself.

:giggle Even the dream books can't help those!

:( And we're right there to wake you up!

That is so interesting, Cheryl! I'm glad you were able to find closure through them. Were you essentially pushing yourself into a lucid dreaming state?

:giggle The bull!!

Oh jeez!

Glad they're less often now!

I hope the dreams bring you comfort. <3

Yes, that was what I was doing. I was able to go into a near-sleep state even during the day. It was a very deep meditative state. Kundalini Meditation was the method I was using for when I wasn't going to sleep for the night. It has to be done with much practice and caution, however. I had been on the meditation path for quite awhile before trying that.

Two recurring dreams (nightmares really) I have are the falling dream. Where you feel like you are falling. I usually jump out of being scared and wake up. Freaks my hubby out. The other one is that my teeth are all crumbling out of my mouth. I wake up and have to feel all of my teeth with my tongue to make sure they are there.

The other night I had a funny dream. Our church had recently went on a trip and when they got back I found a pair of underwear that had fallen out of someone's bag. We had quite the funny time texting and asking whose it was. LOL. But that night I went to bed and literally had dreams that I was finding underwear everywhere. I couldn't stop finding it.

Oh my - so many dream stories. I can never remember where my locker is or the combination. I have often skipped (or forgotten) I had a college class and then remembered right before it was time to take the final. I have dreamed of houses a lot - big ones with rooms unused and new ones added. Houses with floors that are warped and slanted, sagging, rotting. And Liz, I too have had the teeth falling out of your mouth dream.

Tornado dreams plagued me for years (childhood until age 40 or so) until I thought about what I would be doing in a real tornado - praying for safety! So the next time a tornado dream started, I prayed in my dream, calling out to God. That was the last time I had a tornado dream.

But my favorite dreams have been of Jesus Christ's return. In one, he came to reassure me of his love and that he would return some day. He held my face in his hands. I woke up and could still feel his hands on my face. What love, what joy!

I sometimes get that falling sensation as I'm almost sleep! And I've had teeth dreams too. :cornfused

Me (to my husband in the morning): You did XYZ in my dream last night and I was so mad at you for doing that.
Husband: I just love getting yelled at for what I do in your dreams.

:lol:giggle

That's so interesting! Sometimes I'll have dreams that I'm at my house, but it's not my house IRL or there's been changes.

I rarely remember my dreams. Maybe once a month, I will have a fleeting memory. I wish I was better at remembering them!

As for recurring dreams. I think a lot of people have some version of this one. In my dream, I've registered for classes a while back and it's the first day of school and I have no idea what classes I've registered for or where they are located on the campus. For some reason, there is no resource to call, so I'm stuck trying to figure out what to do. The last time I had this dream, it actually had a different ending - not only did I find my class, but I brought donuts with me to share!

WOW- "...In one, he came to reassure me of his love and that he would return some day. He held my face in his hands...." what a fabulous, precious dream! We would call that a "prophetic dream" maybe.
I used to have tornado dreams when i lived in Indiana, for good reason, lol!
I have had several very special ones, usually they have strong prophetic meanings and I remember them clearly enough to sketch the scenes. :yup I pray about those and get the revelation. Sometimes they are for encouragement, other times they are warnings of things to come.
Others are just my mind piecing together details of the day. :eyeroll
My favorite? Can't limit it. But a great dream was of my son and daughter in law walking toward me and embracing me then smiling. Then they called the grandchildren in. That was two months before our estrangement ended! :D

If I dream I don't remember them. Have had a couple of nightmares over the years but not in a long time.

I dream a lot and I would say that most of my dreams are pretty mundane, like interactions with my family and nothing very exciting. Often in my dreams, I'll be going through my day but soooo tired, like falling asleep tired, and trying to keep myself awake to do whatever it is I'm supposed to be doing.
One of my favs from childhood was me driving a VW bug to the store and when I got there I moved the seat and a calf walked out like he was my pet :giggle. In another one that I had a few times, I was a super hero fighting with Superman!

Oh my gosh do I have dreams. I have normal ones, I have wacky ones, I have the fallings ones, but not as much anymore. And my favorite (NOT) are the ones where I'm dreaming it's the end of a semester at college and I've just realized that I had a whole other class that I put of going to and I can't find the class or the syllabus or book, etc. to hurry up and finish what I put off for my other more important classes. Those are SO stressful! Or I also have dreams sometimes that I win a free vacation, but I have to pack in a hurry and I can't find anything to get packed... so it's a big race to grab stuff and make it to the airport on time. Thankfully I don't have those stressful ones very often at all, but they are SO real when I do!

I also sometimes have dreams where my hubby has done something in my dream and I'm so sure it's real when I wake up that I'm mad at him too. :dizzy @bonnenuit

I had one a few weeks ago that made no sense really, but essentially my kid was at a hospital/doctor's office and had to be taken to another room for an x-ray or test and when he came back he didn't have his belt. I asked the nurse about it and she got all mad at me for accusing her of stealing it (which I didn't and was an over reaction on her part) but then I got all suspicious and starting acting like a real KAREN and demanded to search the room that he was taken to. Then they denied he even went to the back. I was SO mad when I woke up. I told my husband about the missing belt and he just laughed and laughed. :eyeroll :giggle
